Be that as it may, The Orville is still great. It's amazing to me how many people will suck Seth McFarlane's dick because Star Trek is virtually dead.
Seth is still a crazed Leftist loon, kids.

Newsflash: so was Roddenberry and just about everyone else who produced Star Trek over the years. It's just something that, for better or worse, goes with the territory. It's amazing to me how many people will suck Seth McFarlane's dick because Star Trek is virtually dead.

Yeah, modern Trek is doing that shit. The Orville isn’t. Calm the fuck down.Yes, Gene was a Leftist, but he created stories and fiction that EVERYONE could enjoy. Not just one side with a rabid need to talk down to people like they were fucking stupid.

And yet, he’s doing exactly what you just said Gene did: creating stories EVERYONE can enjoy. It’s literally why people consider Orville actual Star Trek. So who cares what he believes? So long as he’s not cramming it into the show, I could give a rats ass. The show is good. It's still created by a man who believes in that shit, so....
Yeah, and that's also what The Orville is doing. McFarlane might be a rabid lefty, but The Orville, for the most part, isn't just a mouthpiece. And even where it is a mouthpiece, it's actually decently done.Yes, Gene was a Leftist, but he created stories and fiction that EVERYONE could enjoy. Continue to project, but it isn't gonna stop me from enjoying the show. Cope and seethe.
That is definitely how I've been trying to judge these shows over the past few years. I raged at nuTrek and Disney Wars for probably a decade from the JJ films through STD and until after The Last Skywalker or whatever the 3rd Disney film was called. After that, I accepted these franchises weren't going to change and decided if I was going to continue to engage with their content, it would be on their own terms, not in relation to shit I actually like. So armed with that, I thought The Mandalorian was ok for TV show, I continued to ignore STD and the cartoons, I laughed at Picard, and I've been surprisingly impressed with Strange New Worlds while watching Obi-Wan for the mediocre TV show that it is.Having that said, there's an old saying, judge the art by only the art itself and not the artist.
I think the first episode had to shit out some STD residue so they could move on, but it improves massively after that. Don't give em any money, but I'd recommend trying the next couple if you like a more TOS vibe; SNW is my favourite currently.I tried a week of Paramount plus and couldn’t finish the first episode of Strange new worlds.
