Well, time for a bump as the S3 first episode just aired.

I never got into this at the time as I'm not really into Star Trek and my only awareness of it was as a "Star Trek parody". It also is done by the guy who created Family Guy, I think, which I find dull as ditch water.

But I like it. S3 kicked off on a kind of sombre note - it surprised me. And I guess some of the point the episode was making was a little on the nose. But for personal reasons, it had an impact on me. New crew member is annoyingly hot. I still miss the original security officer - the tiny one. I wish she was still on the show.

Anyway, nothing in this episode to put me off hoping S3 will be as good as the previous two. At least not yet.

Just watched the opener for s3. And gotta say, Seth proves he truly does love Trek. Some great performances by the cast, too. Sad, without forcing all the characters to cry for an hour.

It’s weird to think “oh finally, Star Trek is back on air” and it’s not one of the 7 new shows with Star Trek in the name.

Wow, what a way to start a new season. I like that the story continues, the events of the battle with the Kaylons had a serious impact on every crewmember. Suicide is a tough subject to write about and especially as a season premiere but Seth did a great job.

Yaphit got more screentime (RIP Norm), the big tardigrade was back, and we got new aliens too.

Yep. The guy who plays Lamarr has made a lot of progress. In the previous seasons I don't think he was really into it but now he knows how to technobabble his way.

There’s a fairly woke Orville podcast called “Pandavision” and the head fag actually quit over this episode. I like the recaps but any moclan episode becomes a lbtqwtfbbq circle transgender jerk quickly.

This new blonde chick sucks, I hope Seth is fucking her or something because they could have hired eye candy that can act better,

Have been rewatching the first two seasons in preparation for this, and man Seth just gets what makes Star Trek Star Trek so much more than the hobgoblins shitting out the official shows at Paramount.

Man, that’s a hell of an interesting character to do a suicide plot with. Good shit.

Such a powerful episode, made with pure emotion, not manufactured shit. It shits all over nuTrek. However, I think this would have been better as like episode 2-3, giving a bit more time to impress the feelings of the crew and introduce the new girl. Despite that, It's good to have a proper successor to Star Trek.

Pretty good episode and impressive prosthetics for a tv show.
I laughed during this scene. I don't know, it's always the little things that make The Orville a comfy experience.
