It must be scary in Maine. Not knowing where this guy is. Fox News reported "BORTAC" unit of the Border Patrol has joined in on the hunt. So far the police haven't any luck but maybe this group will manage to find his location.

U.S. Border Patrol agents from an elite tactical unit known as "BORTAC" have joined the ongoing manhunt for Robert Card.

According to a senior U.S. Customs and Border Protection source, BORTAC agents arrived on Thursday and are on the ground assisting in the manhunt.

Recently, the elite tactical unit has been successful in resolving several high profile cases.

In September, a BORTAC unit helped track and find Danelo Cavalcante , a convicted killer who came to the U.S. illegally while suspected of another murder in his home country of Brazil.

BORTAC also found and captured the Cleveland, Texas mass shooter, Francisco Oropesa, in May.

In May, the tactical unit breached and killed Salvador Ramos, who gunned down 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

Firearms offer freedom but that comes with a price.

Most of the world operates on a concept of freedom "from want" through a large government. America operates on a freedom "from government". In the realm of self defense, we see that in many Western and even Eastern countries that the "freedom" from violence comes through the power of government. That the government has the monopoly to violence against an aggressor.

In essence, you are not really free as the most fundamental freedom of ones right to life via self defense is contingent on someone else.

Case in point, I went over to the UK for a vacation. I have a couple friends there and I stayed at their place near some market town. I don't yell or insult him. All I ask for him to do is to go down to the local police station and ask to see the response times to the highest priority police calls and if the caller suffered an injury after the call was made.

That is, if an uninjured caller perceives danger how often does the police respond fast enough to prevent criminal harm befalling the caller.

He was confident that he could get the data and it would show that the police would be there for him.

I was in the England for two weeks and near the end, I bumped into him again.

They staff the northern border fairly heavily too, plus a lot more landmass to police up north compared to the south. Lewiston is like 120 miles from the border and its porous as fuck outside the main roads. I didnt see anyone post the bike model thats registered to him, if it is a dual performance, or he owns an ATV (likely) he might not even be in the country anymore.

These days student bowling teams are in vogue again. They wanted to try and attract loner kids who aren’t necessarily going to go out for something extremely athletic. It’s more for the social opportunity.

He wasn't a veteran, or an instructor. He was a fucking POL (petroleum-oil-lubricants) part time Reserve pogue (i.e. drive trucks & store/deliver gas) for 20 years, never deployed, and who filled in as an RSO during range qualifications; which is to make sure "clear on the line!"/"all clear!" is done, soldiers are shooting at their own targets, etc. He helped clean weapons after turning them in, and told anyone who would listen how high-speed he was. Anything else he did was on his own time, not on the Army's dime or instruction. I still haven't seen any instructor certifications from the NRA or anyone else, aside from a gun range operator who said he volunteered to help on the line during classes. He didn't do any special schools, he didn't do shit; and making/keeping rank in the Reserve is a lot easier than in the Guard or active duty.

The "firearm instructing veteran" is a media invention to make him sound even more deadly & dangerous, and to paint real veterans & firearms instructors as unstable potential time-bombs; they've been waiting for just such a maniac for years.

Edit: "Firearm instructor" in the Army is a specific job, requiring specific schooling and experience; which he most certainly did not have.
