Maine Police Say Lewiston Suspect WAS Prohibited From Possessing Guns

Powerleveling but: I know a family member who lived in the woods in Maine/NH area as a hermit for years. He essentially needed no contact with people. The harshest part about the East Coast is the winters. There are tons of freshwater springs, wild plants and game etc. There are massive stretches of forested land that is either privately owned and never walked on or just basically abandoned. Cops wont bother you unless ironically you're trying to live on your own land and don't have utilities properly established, hikers usually stick to per-determined spots and Fish & Game wardens are wild up there so hunters tend to follow rules as well.

I hate to say it but if this dude has basic survival skills and any type of advance planning i.e. leaving a hiking bag or supplies in the woods this dude could disappear for a while.

I am sure he had access to canned goods out the wazoo. If his family has a freeze dryer and preps, he could grab a years worth of food and fit it in a normal car.

A part of me is rooting for the guy. Not because I want him to get away with his heinous crime, but because it would be nice to know that it is still possible to get away.

just read about him. if he only ran one or two people in his 27 year adventure while actively breaking into cabins for supplies, that should really give you a gauge for how near impossible it is going to be to find this dude. sure, people are going to be actively looking for him at a larger scale unlike christopher, but there is a fuck ton of woods in maine. like an impossible amount if you're just trying to find one guy. it's quite literally the perfect place to disappear (besides montana, and we could get into how kaczynski lived the same hermit life that christopher did but they didnt even know he was the one doing the bombings so i'd like to think it's a bit different).

Why no cctv footage from the bowling alley? The still pics of the perp obviously came from video footage and were released almost immediately. I think I realized why there hasn't been any cell phone footage posted.
