Just watched Fallen Kingdom (or whatever's the name for JW2) and it's not as bad as I remembered. The action scenes are good and there is more suspense than JW1. The token kid of the franchise is supposed to be the little girl, but the two millennials reminded me more of Lex and Timmy in their characterization: dinosaur enthusiast and reluctant nerd.
Also, this movie is really meta. Replace "dinosaurs" with "franchise you enjoyed as a kid" and it's like a documentary of current day entertainment business.
Speaking of the kid,
1. I can't be the only one who thought that she was going to be a dino-human hybrid... I mean, come on.
2. I wasn't that annoyed at her until she released the dinos. "They're alive, like me." No, kid, you're not going into a murdering rampage and eat innocent civilians, they aren't like you.

I've never seen a Cassowary in the wild, but those things are pretty much living velociraptors with beaks. They have huge legs with a huge upturned claw to impale and slash perceived threats to their territory.
There is a bird here, don't know it's name, not even in Spanish that it's basically a small velociraptor. It's a common small bird you see at the park, and that's where I noticed. The bird was on the ground and started to run exactly like a JP velociraptor, especially the long tail up. I know the JP raptors are not how raptors really looked like, but it was freaky how much this bird just ran and look like them.I mean, modern birds are just little raptors without the teeth and hand claws. Except for the big ones that are still the same size as their Cretaceous cousins. I have not forgotten when I went to the San Diego Zoo and saw the Andean Condor up close. It's nothing short of amazing that a bird that big can actually fly.
