Right, time to play KOTOR (it passed me by originally) before the HBO Two rape it into the dust.

The Kingsmoot is just the ship captains picking their new king. It's basically the same thing as the little council of lords they held as opposed to an actual democracy.-everybody laughing in Sam's stupid fat face when he proposed democracy (although why is Asha smirking? she literally called for an election on the Iron Islands in season 6(?)).
everyone knows it was downhill after season 5. the issue is more that it's just been an exponentially louder "fuck you" to the audience each season up until the greatest "FUCK YOUUUUUUU" as the finale. btw, i like how they make a point of making the audience knows this when davos talks about the fact that the lord of light was a huge plot player, and then just "fucks off" after the battle with the night king without another word. the lord of light was an 8-season long plot device along with every single one of his priestesses, culminating not in resurrecting jon snow, but in lighting a bunch of swords on fire and then starting a fire mote, neither of which did jack shit in a battle that nobody cared about 2 days after it was finished despite it being the culmination of events starting in the first scene of the very first episode. Why? Because FUCK YOU, that's why.how. fucking. disappointing.

The Children of the forest won. Brans not even bran, he's the 3 eyed raven and is all the face trees. Makes sense why he's send snow to the wall after he kills the last big threat to them. Having a natural leader with his monster wolf spy make sure the wildlings keep the north in check.
This is just another elven conspiracy come full circle. Around elves watch yourselves.
She should have been on the small council and probably would have had they not forgotten about her.Biggest missed opportunity of the episode was not bringing Meera and Howland Reed to King's Landing to meet King Bran. At the very least, Meera should have been present at Sansa's coronation.
If GRRM demanded final cut on the scripts we would've spent 3 seasons fucking around in Mereen, the Riverlands, and Dorne. He's better than D&D but this myth that Martin has a solid concept of how to pace this story after almost 20 years of scrambling to follow up A Storm of Swords really needs to die. He's as confused as anyone else, tbh, which is part of why we still don't have a release date for the Winds of Winter.Martin's not entirely blameless; he should've demanded final cut privilige for the scripts,...
Elective monarchies have been relatively common in history. The Holy Roman Empire and Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth both lasted centuries.I am drunk and I am sure this has been said but that was the most stupid fucking SJW pandering ending I've ever seen. I can't believe it went from "okay this can maybe turn out fine" in ep 5 to full on "put the disabled person in charge, replace the monarchy with a sorta democracy, let the woman be queen for no reason, banish the evil patriarchy to the north" bullshit in ep 6. Fucking hell.
I would have loved a kick ass dragon fight. Maybe drogon was about to eat a kid or something and jon stabs it or sparking some cool battle. Maybe bronn helps with the last scorpion, other characters do... things. I don't care if it would make much sense I just wanted to see a cool fight at this point. If GRRM demanded final cut on the scripts we would've spent 3 seasons fucking around in Mereen, the Riverlands, and Dorne. My bourbon and popcorn wound up being mostly un-utilized last night. It wasn't bad enough to be funny, and the parts that were patently exceptional (making an impotent cripple king, keeping the North independent "just cause") weren't addressed by the show in any meaningful capacity to be entertaining. The bit with Jon & Drogon was nice, though confusing and ultimately pointless. Someone should've been made Dragonslayer in the process of ending Mad Queen Dany. Also why did Jon have to take the black when Grey Worm and the rest of the Unsullied left to go die to butterflies on Naath? It's like the showrunners were banking on the audience forgetting this isn't set in the 21st century, where we get real-time status updates via the internet, and where ignoring the mercenary army's wishes and doing what you want is no longer a viable option.
Not really; it makes no sense to put Bronn in there (nor to elevate him to such a high station). It makes no sense for Sam to be relieved of his night watch vow, nor for him to already have finished maester training, let alone being elected as grandmaester.Small Council is filled with better people than it ever had previously on the show
Neither of these were stretches. My bourbon and popcorn wound up being mostly un-utilized last night. Having Drogon survive, I was fine with. But not having any kind of plan about what to do about the dragon once you kill his mommy was exactly as lazy as I expect from the Dipshits in Chief. The bit with Jon & Drogon was nice, though confusing and ultimately pointless. Someone should've been made Dragonslayer in the process of ending Mad Queen Dany.
I just assumed this was 'cause the Unsullied were the ones actually holding territory, and Jon was their prisoner. Also why did Jon have to take the black when Grey Worm and the rest of the Unsullied left to go die to butterflies on Naath? Don't forget the Papacy. There's also an electoral component for the position of Emir of Kuwait.Elective monarchies have been relatively common in history. The Holy Roman Empire and Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth both lasted centuries.
Also why the fuck is Brienne shitting on the kingsguard book by filling it with lies?

And yet he still apparently needs a Master of Whispers.Neither of these were stretches.
Bran may be a cripple, but he's a psychic with unlimited insight into the past and present. The stupid part was the fact that the other characters never seemed to notice this until just now. Plus, him being unable to have children was explicitly cited as a benefit, given how bad the trackrecords of royal and noblechildren were in the show and in history.
How they would know he can't is the strange part. You can still get hard after paralysis in certain cases. You just can't feel it.

I didn't mean "better people" in terms of "most qualified". I meant "better people" in terms of "better human beings". Mostly because Littlefinger and Pycelle are both dead, but that's an important step. Not really; it makes no sense to put Bronn in there (nor to elevate him to such a high station). It makes no sense for Sam to be relieved of his night watch vow, nor for him to already have finished maester training, let alone being elected as grandmaester.
I'd be stunned if this was the case.I'm sure that Arya sailing east is a GRRM invention, to rhyme with frodo and lord of the rings.
