So I can't be the only one who thinks that Jon and Dany's final scene together was all-too reminiscent of this cinematic masterpiece:

I mean ... Dany did kill some younglings, too ...

I have no problem mocking the people who invested too much of themselves into this show, it goes beyond just laughing at the "nerds", the people who put their heart and politics into this, like the people loved Blonde Dragon Queen because she was a real kween slaying for change and a STRONG WOMYN...some people made loving comparisons to Hillary Rodham Clinton ,unironically unable to appreciate what that meant. It's one thing to be disappointed but the people who are taking this a little too seriously, and melting down because a white cismale ended up in charge instead of a totally badass #GirlBoss like Danyeras or whoever they favored, and so on and so forth - these people obsessed over it and elevated GoT to something more than a mere TV show in their minds.

I’ve seen nerd-rage and catlady-rage before, but it feels different this time, more desperate and despairing.

A lot of people have such lofty expectations from their pop-cultural feed these days. They really do expect profound catharsis every time one of these mass audience spectacles comes rolling around. It's not enough for the series they fetishize to come to an at least decent conclusion. No, no, no, the ending has to be profound AND meaningful AND properly flatter their biases AND come to an end so cathartic it sends a massive dopamine rush through their brain that justifies the amount of time and feels they've invested and allow them a peak experience. It's never going to be satisfying to them, they're going to keep chasing after it, seeking it in mindless stimulation, a cycle of consuming product and getting excited for next products.

Welp, I've just read all this because I'm not staying up to 2 am here in bongland.

Should I start torrenting it now so I can get straight on with the mockery when I get back from work?

I think I will. This sounds like a level of autism that must be experienced for oneself.

Supposedly, the scene where Jon pets Ghost is actually from a previous season and was only added due to the backlash.
I found that scene from Season 4. While it does look similar, Jon pets Ghost on the left side of his face and in Season 4 he pets him on the right. Ghost also nips at Jon's hair. What's even dumber is that they didn't re-edit that shot for the finale: they actually wrote "Jon breaks up with his spirit wolf only to re-unite two episodes later".

Never have watched the show and too much aspergers here to read through 133 pages of stuff so can someone in 100 words or less tell me what the show is about?
A bunch of assholes play 5-dimensional chess against each other and in the fifth round, the creators come in and flip over the chess tables because fuck you.

Surprised nobody's come out the woodwork to say that Dany was justified in massacring the population of King's Landing because she was so traumatised by patriarchy that this was the only cause of action open to her.

It will be all over Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook/YT in the morning

Last meme tonight, I'm up past my bedtime:

Oh wow the finale was disappointing, not simply because it was poorly executed but because you know this will be the actual book ending and I don't feel like slogging through three more of Martin's books (if Martin actually writes three more books).
He is supposed to write two books but he won't. He will croak before the sixth one is finished. He spent his free time after finishing Dance of Dragons doing interviews and fan meetups and pointless history novels.
So we are left with this disaster of ending.

But I have to ask.
What is King Bran the Broken, Connoisseur of Wheelchairs, Voyeur of Rapes actual tax policy?

I've always thought Martin got bit by the fame bug and just loves it way to much.

I know exactly what Bran's new tax policy is

Reminder none of this would have happened if that shithead dwarf hadn't poisoned his noble nephew Joffrey, who by all accounts was a fair and just King.

I could kind of see the other lords going along with having a completely weak King with no heirs who will leave them all the fuck alone. That's going to be unstable as hell in the long-term and you're going to have a repeat of all this when Bran dies.

On the plus side, Jon pet the doggy and I really liked the visuals of the wrecked Red Keep and Dany's Sieg Heil rally.

I can’t believe they managed to leave a water bottle in after the Starbucks cup fiasco.

Anyway, have this.
