Fuck they're out here saying that he's on suicide watch in the county jail which completely BLOWS. Considering how high-profile and important this case is, I think it would be prudent to put him in the turtle suit even if he didn't express desire for self-harm anymore.

Also, not only is the turtle suit super uncomfortable, but so is the cell they hold you in. You have to poop through a small hole on the floor and there's always someone watching you. Or so I heard. I've never been in the can myself, I'm white.

I don't know if it was different for me because I got into a brawl in the holding cell, but I had to wear the turtle suit and I actually had a metal toilet with a sink on it. But just how miserable it is with the time blindness, the disorientation and sleep deprivation of the lights constantly on, the lack of literally anything to do, I mean I can DEFINITELY see how someone could make a case for that being torture. I like to think that I'm a strong person but if you put me in conditions like that for long enough I would probably end up snitching. With no frame of reference for time, it's almost like time stops. I was in there for maybe 10 hours, and it felt like I'd been there for days. Not only that but it's ice cold in there and you don't even get a blanket. Like I said I like to think I'm mentally strong so there's no way that this fucking kid isn't going to end up snitching all over himself and his confederates. There's still a huge world of difference between simply not doing what most other people your sex do, and literally disassociating from your birth sex by identifying as "nonbinary."

Truth is an affirmative defense in libel, slander and defamation complaints in the United States.
