Kenji makes me think of Elliot Roger, but not as douchey lol.
I dunno, looks okay so far. My asshole brothers are crowing "IT'S CONTRADICTING" because Dearing mentions in
World they haven't had park incidents, but the camp directors called in and got her voicemail so she wouldn't have heard it. But they're not even watching the show with another brother and I, so I'm just ignoring them. But otherwise, not bad. Sammy's totally suspicious, yo lol, like what the hell.
Also lol Ben's voiced by Sean Giambrone. Thought he sounded familiar.
EDIT: Alright, we finished it. Guess it saying "season one" should've been our first clue that this is gonna be a series, but damn, that was pretty fun. I'll take back what I said about Sammy, but it's still fucked how she agreed to go on that island to begin with. Like she's still just a kid, at least with Nedry, he was an adult and had a legit vendetta against Hammond for doing what he did.
Sucks they chickened out on killing off Ben for reals, but if they have the balls, they'll hurt the kids some more. Although I was sitting there thinking "Wait, what did Ben do that would've constituted him getting killed? He hasn't done anything that would mean him getting eaten was karmic punishment."
I do have to question how Bumpy got that big in just, what, 48 hours? They've been injecting the dinosaurs with some kind of growth hormones, aren't they? Think Wu mentioned something about it.
Bro and I will definitely have to keep an eye out for the second season's release. It's honestly a breath of fresh air to see a Netflix original not look like shit, for once. The animation was what you'd expect from the DreamWorks TV animation department (although I think the
HTTYD TV shows looked a little better tbh), and the kids weren't annoying despite the dialogue. Think it sucks they went down the "adults are useless" route since typically the adults can actually do something even if they get eaten at the end of the day, but I could let it slide here that the camp directors couldn't always be there for them because of what was going on, and the kids shouldn't have left the camp to begin with, but the show would've ended a lot sooner if they hadn't, so...
So yeah. Glad I watched it. Was nice to see more of the park and see how it tied into the movie with a few events here and there.
The scene where Roxie opens up the cabinet to see the walkie-talkies freak out and then go red when the Indominus was massacring the respondents was freaky, won't lie. Pretty neat scene.
