It's a good thing he isn't. I think Chris would want to talk at the jury, seeing that he hasn't learned anything from his last court appearances.

I have a feeling Chris could read a weens letter advising him to talk to the jury about the collective shift, which Chris would have no hesitation in doing, even with Heilberg's advice not to do so.

Part of me wonders, given how much it had to be explained here just what a Grand Jury did, if Heilburg had to give Chris a lengthy clarification that today was, again, not the Big Day despite the name.

Or if he did the somewhat merciful thing and didn't tell him there was a hearing. At this point I have to believe Chris thinks any hearing might be the one where he gets a release, apology, and large cash stipend for his troubles. His Pavlovians are all fucked up.

All that said, it's unlikely the local media (Especially as the "big four" TV affiliates in Charlottesville are owned by just two companies, one of which owns three of the four) is going to make this a "trial of the century" with gavel-to-gavel coverage, and it's probably not big enough for someone like CourtTV to pay a lot of attention to. MAYBE they cover it to some degree just for the shock factor, but that might not even include a camera crew. In my experience around the media, they're way more likely to show up for sentencing than the actual trial. At most all we would get out of that is a shot of the back of Chris' head while an anchor says "Christine Chandler was sentenced today to death by combination electric chair and firing squad for having sex with their own mother."

What could possibly make the more politically conservative local media take notice is the fact that Chris identifies as transgender (or at least he is on his driver's licence - Virginia won't recognise him as a woman as he hasn't had surgery), and we've seen the right wing American politicians make a mountain out of a molehill over that. Its the sort of thing you'll see on Republican-aligned news stations like Fox News and Christian news outlets, inbetween their endless reporting on Donald Trump's latest activities.

Chris really does give Transgender people (as well as people with Autism, Sonic the Hedgehog fans, Hyperdimension Neptunia fans, and fan comic writers) a bad name, unfortunately. Maybe with him behind bars, the perception of them will improve dramatically.
