Please, and I mean PLEASE do not force Queen’s Blood as something that’s part of the main story in this game. I do not want another chapter dedicated to it. Easily one of the biggest issues with Rebirth was the pacing with some chapters being fun and then others being a complete slog. Make everything worthwhile.

The boat, the mines, and nibelheim sure do come to mind.

The mini games are completely optional this time around and the achievements are not tied to them anymore

I wonder if they're still going to call each other bitch and slut during the whole thing, or if it will be "updated for modern audiences".
Barret swears lightly so I could see bitch making it, but that T rating hampers a lot of stuff.

I was talking more about the words themselves being seen as "problematic" in current year. We don't want to slut shame anyone so they may have to change it.

dont they store both the japanese and english audio and animations effectively doubling the size? thats what i read somewhere a few years ago
Yes, both audio portions are stored and uncompressed for high quality which inflates it quite a bit. Cutscene facial animations are duplicated too but not the whole scene.

It doesn't seem so bad when you consider FF13 was around 50 gigs (60 installed). FFXV was 90gigs before DLC, just behind XVI. Long gone are the days of X and XII being 3ish gigs.

here's the Rub, Hamburger, if she knows about needing to cast Holy, she knows about Sephiroth's need for Meteor.

you could.. just fucking stop the Meteor handoff, mind you, her casting Holy doesn't stop Meteor and only lessens the effects, likely the planet gets wrecked by Meteor+holy hitting it and many many people die.. so I dunno, altering the timeline so Meteor never gets cast is likely a way better plan than just doing the same shit again.

also she could just fling herself into the Lifestream to cast Holy, it doesn't require her death, its an actual fucking physical place you can fall into.

and despite my bitching, there is a very good bittersweet angle with the remakes they lay out, Aerith knows she's going to die, knows this adventure is the last she'll have, and these are the only true friends she'll ever make, and that she will never have the love of Zack or Cloud and its perfectly encapsulated in this song.

She knows the "day" they meet again is solely when they all meet in the afterlife/lifestream, its all very tragic but its sad that it has to happen for no reason.
Well hell, if remake Aerith knows everything then she could have given Zack a warning when they were dating that if he ever ends up on a mission with Sephiroth to never bring up his past or let him go into the mansion at Nibelheim. Or if he starts acting weird just straight up kill Sephiroth in his sleep the first chance he gets. Cut everything off at the earliest point. Then the game can really modern audience it up and just be AVALANCHE running around with Barret and his harem of white women protecting the environment and destroying evil corporations. Cloud could have a cameo as the first guard at the reactor that Barret shoots.
Well, for one, she never leaves without saying a word. She tells Cloud. In both versions of the game she thinks it's important someone knows what she was doing. This is in fact the proof she knew she could die. People deny this because Tifa, who doesn't know any of this, says she didn't think Aerith expected to die. In context that's just Tifa choosing to remember Aerith for her optimism but people take it literally even though Aerith thought the Wall Market was "dangerous" early in the story.

And I think the idea she knows everything is an assumption. Her actions make perfect sense if we assume imperfect information or some other reason she needs to be in the Lifestream while Sephiroth assumes he just owned her twice. I'm betting on the latter because it would fit her character to play down what she knows (if you rewatch the rooftop convo she has with Cloud after they first meet, that's exactly what she does to him once he starts asking too many questions about why the Turks were after her). Or it could be an asymmetry where, because she cares about other people, she has to stick to the proper series of events as much as possible while Sephiroth can ignore it because any bad outcomes favor his agenda.

A good enough reason, the "canon" timeline ended well enough for all her friends, the planet is likely devestated by the events, but for the short term, things carry on, changing things means you can't control the outcome anymore.

Its not very heroic though is it? its almost defeatist, why even try to make things better for myself, might as well just die like I'm supposed to.. its rather sad, I'd rather roll the dice and go big.
