Kind of an achievement to make three shit games out of one game by adding bullshit nobody needs, original takes ~37 hours to finish, the new slop over 100 hours. All remakes / remasters are just pure cancer. Square Enix is also woke and only woke faggots would give them money.

They changed the VA for sephiroth. He has been recast with Travis Willingham ( he did Roy Mustang in Fullmetal alchemist) and he sounds more like xemnas.
I am ok with this. It's unknown what happened to the old VA beyond supposed schedule conflicts.
Apparently there are significant story choices that can be made in game that will change how things process. There's supposed to be only one true ending, but they've left the door open enough to suggest certain things may change depending on what you do. This strikes me as a have your cake and eat it moment. You want to go apeshit and change history? / You don't want to and hate that shit? Here's two cakes everybody!
It's unknown how this works, but the world is almost completely open at the beginning when you get the airship. The only thing stopping you from going everywhere are high level enemy's. Although rocket town is for later on in the game.
Deep ground is confirmed to be in midgar and apparently... It's fully explorable this time.
The weapons can be fought conventionally like the old days or alternatively using different mechanics ( looks like shinra laser tech in the trailer)
The new costume/job system has completely different movesets so... I reckon that's how you'll be able to get the fusion swords and play as AC cloud.
Fast travel will be used to get back on the high wind after parachuting into an area and you only have to parachute once for unexplored places. Yes there will be an interior. Cars are available for certain areas. Birds can get into more places then the cars but are prohibited from rocket town. The Highwind has an interior mode with a crew and decorations that can change as the game progresses.
The only real "negative" I can see is that they completely took out chocobo breeding in favor of just having one that levels up new abilities for each land. ( Personally I hated the breeding shit so that doesn't bother me)
they better have something hype, Aerith dying despite knowing THE ENTIER PLOT OF THE GAME was retarded, also she never even tries to tell the others all the shit that she knows, just waltzes into her death.
Wasn't the whole part of her plan that she had to die to summon Holy from the Lifestream and she already accepted that she was the only one that could do it and that's why she leaves without saying anything in the OG? I guess you could say the reason she doesn't tell them anything in the remakes is because she doesn't want them to try and stop her or change the timeline too much to cause a bigger catastrophe. Maybe she knows that if she dies it works in the end so she doesn't want to try anything different this time.

here's the Rub, Hamburger, if she knows about needing to cast Holy, she knows about Sephiroth's need for Meteor.
you could.. just fucking stop the Meteor handoff, mind you, her casting Holy doesn't stop Meteor and only lessens the effects, likely the planet gets wrecked by Meteor+holy hitting it and many many people die.. so I dunno, altering the timeline so Meteor never gets cast is likely a way better plan than just doing the same shit again.
also she could just fling herself into the Lifestream to cast Holy, it doesn't require her death, its an actual fucking physical place you can fall into.
and despite my bitching, there is a very good bittersweet angle with the remakes they lay out, Aerith knows she's going to die, knows this adventure is the last she'll have, and these are the only true friends she'll ever make, and that she will never have the love of Zack or Cloud and its perfectly encapsulated in this song.
She knows the "day" they meet again is solely when they all meet in the afterlife/lifestream, its all very tragic but its sad that it has to happen for no reason.
Do people like Advent Children? I remember when it first came out, people were glazing the fuck out of it because it wasn't The Spirits Within, and Cloud and Sephiroth were doing big anime sword fights. But I think most people now thinks AC is unnecessary fan-service.

its fanservice but its a fitting capstone to Cloud's arc, also it sorta was the springboard for the remakes, as Sephiroth is alot more ethereal than he presented in the OG game, and not as easily put down, in the remake essentially post AC Sephiroth is the one you meet in the weird Time-Zones, as he's more of a revenant than a real being anymore.
I pirated Rebirth and honestly it was one of the worst games I ever played. It ran like complete crap on a 3080. I only played the intro in Clouds village but the cutscenes were so insultingly bad that I uninstalled it right after. I'm hardly even a fan of FF7, it was babies first JRPG when it came out with only 3 playable characters and very simple combat and exploration mechanics but at least the tone was something a teenager might enjoy. Square's modern slop is all kingdom hearts cringe for homosexual autistics. How they managed to botch the FF7 remake when it was the biggest rumor in gaming back during the PS3 is crazy.

I just found out that it was Sephiroth talking in the trailer, not Gi Nattak. Absolutely shitty choice for a new VA. The VA from Advent Children said he was down to come back and he was perfect. Also what's your source for the other stuff?

I really want that too. But there was some shit going on behind the scenes. This is entirely rumors, but it was either DEI bullshit where they had to cast new hip actors to appease Western stockholders or the old voice actors union fucked everything over by asking for more money.

Well there are mods to ai his voice into the game so at least that's an idea.
Instead of remaking the same game 3 times in a row (Not counting the other remakes, Jesus) they could've instead made a trilogy modernizing FF 5/6/7 because they all built upon the combat system that led to Action RPGs.
