TMI but that’s what exactly happen to a family friend. Nice guy but he enjoyed life to the extreme. Always overweight until one summer he wasn’t. He thought he finally got his diet under control but it turned out just to be diabetes and colon cancer. Lived another six months.

Not that you asked, but insulin is essentially the hormonal signal to your body to take sugar out of your blood, converting it to long-term storage for later use. When someone has diabetes and isn't managing it, their urine apparently has a sweet smell because their body is frantically dumping sugar because they're insulin resistant. It's a feedback loop in the body, if I remember correctly. With type 2, the body gets overloaded with glucose in the blood and glycogen in the tissues, which is pulled out of the tissues during exercise so that you have something to burn for energy. That's why a lot of exercise machines have settings for 'fat burning' - while it's misleading and intended to sucker people into thinking they're doing more than they are, it's based on this. You have to deplete the glycogen stores in the tissues to signal to your body that it needs to start digging into your fat deposits, sort of like a savings account.
People gain weight when they go on insulin because their sugar storage systems are essentially optimized, the injections don't improve insulin resistance, they actually exacerbate it. I've heard of horror stories of the dosage of injections just going up and up. Person is fat and gets type 2, goes on insulin, gets fatter, ups insulin, insulin does what it does, so on and so forth. The only way out of the death spiral in a lot of cases is to actually cut out the bullshit and lose significant weight. Weirdly enough, gastric bypass and things like that have been shown to hormonally reset these things in some cases, but I'm not so sure. It is a shitty situation to be in as a type 1 diabetic, but those that I've known who eat moderately and eat right don't get fat.

The amount of pre-made garbage she must be consuming off camera is insane. Theres no way unless shes shopping at target or whole foods and instacarting everything and never going with mommalynn and picking up groceries. Theres no way. The "what I eat in a day"s she claims to share her "serving size" we need to get some autistic measuring going on to see how much shes showing vs how much shes buying because she would have to be spending like 2 people+ worth of groceries and paying full price and then some to equal even near the amount of "eating out" worth of spending shes been doing historically.

You can instacart stuff from Costco without a membership your just gonna pay out the ass to get it. I think shes deteriorated her relationship with mommalynn to the point where shes not doing everything for her anymore but will hang out with her if its beneficial like going to the gym or spending "quality time" like going out to eat. There was some random video I watched a couple days ago that was speculating about her and her moms relationship and they made valid points. I dont think her moms as attached anymore shes just letting amber be an adult and make her own choices.

Im thinking theres a target and a Costco near her and shes getting all her groceries from places you can instacart from as well as the dopamine high of shopping/meal planning/browsing/daydreaming about food. Its an addicts paradise. Shes paying a premium but never has to leave her house.
Costco is huge and theres nowhere to sit. Amber would have to be hauled around in one of their pallet looking carts and she would take up all that room as well as I dont think she could get back up if she sat down on it because its so low.
The lanes are wide enough for her though so thats a plus but shes never stepping foot in there imho. Theres too many people who would gawk at her size, shes fully resigned herself to staying inside and going out to eat or once a week or so when mommalynn goes to her place to use their gym in fat girl solidarity to try and get amber out of the house and to stick to her goals.

Also, off topic, but can someone explain to me why Target is seen as more expensive than any other store?
As a REDACTED REDACTED living in a major metropolitan area, I have never shopped at a Target. They exist; hell, one is a half a mile away from my apartment but still, I always assume they were pretty much on Walmart level. Maybe a little fancier (people do like to pronounce it in French) but I always thought that was sort of a joke.
Target, at least growing up, is where liberals shopped before Costco came to town. It was seen as a way of voting with your dollars.

Its classism as far as ive seen. Its marketed as "not walmart". Its "upscale" its cutesy shopping that makes you feel upper class without actually being upper class.
Walmart is seen as low brow. Icky. Low class. Possibly having black/brown people or ugly white trash people there and you dont want to be associated with that. The people who shop exclusively at target are the slightly racist throw leaves in the fall photo girlies. The starbucks loyal customers but they call it starbys to be cutesy. The people who shop at target exclusively want to shop at whole foods and erewhon but cant afford it but dont want to be seen as being so poor you gotta shop at Walmart.

So, she lied by claiming she's spending more on healthy groceries compared to when she was doing take out and has corrected herself without taking accountability. I don't count her being a lazy fatback unwilling to do her own shopping as spending on groceries. What she is actually doing is spending on the decision to being a convenience sloth.
She could easily eat for 2-5 dollars per meal as previously stated by other users. About 110 dollars a week, and that's being generous. What gets me is in her tiktoks she talks about 'going grocery shopping', which we all know is a misnomer for her. She 'goes shopping' about as much as she actually 'goes to the gym', but the false advertising amber does somehow always astounds me.
Amber's ego is hungrier than her stomach.
