He just has to couch his defense in right-think vocabulary even in the deepest throes of a struggle session: it's not harassment, it's "KF style harassment". He genuinely thinks that all he has to do is convince the firing squad that he's one of them, that they've got the wrong guy and he's actually on their side. If it ends up working, if they go "oh wait sorry Will we were mistaken, you're cool after all", he'll magnanimously forgive them then go right on with directing that exact same mob onto his preferred targets. Will Stancil lecturing everyone about the economy will never not be funny to me. He has such a do-nothing job that he can drop everything to honk at cars for weeks at a time and skeet on bluesky 20 hours a day. He is paid by taxes from people who do actual work and he seems to think nothing about the dynamic of lecturing people who are on their feet all day. I truly look forward to the day that jobs like will's are eliminated, and it will unironically be better for him, too. He would calm down a lot if he actually had to accomplish something each day in order to stay alive.

He's not close to getting it, this constitutes him retreating further from getting it. A bit of a tangent but check out David Graeber's bullshit jobs, the article is good no need for the book. He gets details wrong all

So millions of ppl barely need to work, but we don't know how to deal with that economically bc the productive economy still requires millions of people to make fix and repair things.
The social contract would blow apart if farmers had to work to feed 200 million wall-e do-nothings. So some work gets outsourced to third world, some people get makework jobs, and real jobs get filled with makework bs so more people are needed. Will's job is a function of that.
