Its so cool that the same technology is enabling infinite Indians to take American jobs while simultaneously pricing out Americans on engaging with the circuses designed to distract from said problem!

What scalper would actually touch this?
Scalpers are literal scum and will still try but I really doubt anyone is going to bite.

I'm going to go in the lottery for all options just for a laugh. You can still buy gaming PCs that are better for cheaper. The only reason to grab this at all is form factor.

I can't decide if this will flop because its base model is over $1k when the average person has no money and if it'll sell out immediately because the price increased Steam Decks did and people still like Valve.
It’s gonna sell out because of scalpers and the numerous whales valve has, in addiction damn near every company these days is understocking to get FOMO, including Valve.

But it will ultimately flop for two reasons, one is that normies won’t be able to justify spending a grand on something that isn’t a PlayStation and two Valve cannot focus on one thing for more than a year. Think half life alyx mod support, the steam deck largely, deadlock which still isn’t released, etc etc.

Unfortunate pricing. Valve has a lot of weight to throw around (haha gaben fat) but not market-changing in industries they have no foothold in. What a horrible time for personal computing.

Fucking A.I corpos fucked me over when I wanted to build a new pc and I had the absolutely retarded though of waiting for the cost of ram going down.

I will wait for the frame and pray that the bubble pop.

8gb of vram is insane at 1000+ and you don't even get the controller with it. That amount is barely enough to run titles from a few years ago at high settings, and with the next get starting the next couple of years. It's got a 2 year lifespan at max if it's lucky.

Judging by steam deck/steam controller it will sell like hot cakes.
The steam deck had the advantage of being a pretty affordable dedicated PC gaming handheld. At that price for the level of performance you got, you couldn't really get a better deal. I remember the competition around that time was like 600-700 for equal levels of performance.

You know how some people always say "just get a pc bro!"? Yeah, well at this point just get a console, or save a few hundred more to build your own PC.

Such a fair system the people live in!

Steam Deck was the best valued handheld pre price increase. I haven't seen what modern handhelds are like and I know they are more powerful, but the OLED version still has great battery life and performance (If you're not a retard that thinks it should run Cyberpunk at max settings)

Steam Controller has a very special use case that sets it apart from other controllers thanks to its extra bells and whistles. I don't plan on buying one but I see the appeal
Anyone complaining about this price has not tried to build a PC worth a shit in the last 3 years.
I can't argue with 'worth a shit', but you can do better for the price even in today's market.
