Unpopular opinions about food

As a professionaal vodka drinker, it really depends on the brand. But if you just don't like vodka, that's okay too
Vodka is just industrial ethanol cut with enough water to get it to 80 proof regardless of who makes it. If you're spending more than Tito's money on vodka you are very much just lighting money on fire.

Unpopular Opinion to western civilization:

Durian is actually good
the ones shipped to US and UK and etc are all shit
and even then westerners didnt know that Durian comes in many variety/species

but if you do give it a try
look for Musang King Durian
and Blackthorn Durian

those two are the sweetest ones. and doesnt leave a bitter aftertaste or is bitter with a sweet aftertaste

I never understood the hype of the overly priced vodka - I had a friend who would ONLY drink Grey Goose when the Costco brand is made by the same wharehouses and is exponentially cheaper. I like Svedka or New Amsterdam which are reasonably priced. Anything in a plastic bottle besides what they sell at Trader Joe's is exactly like drinking rubbing alcohol. My older brother referred to it as upchuck for obvious reasons.

Jersey Mike's subs are pretty good, less dry than Jimmy John's.
JJ's is just utter boring and thus overpriced trash, but I go to sandwich shops to have them wow me with topping and meat combos than have me scratch my head for a decade figuring what kind of combo I would like as a baseline - at that point it's just easier to buy all the stuff and make it at home.
Jersey Mike's is thus quite brilliant and both taste and quality is up there with mom and pop delis, albeit pricier.

Certain foods are just spiritually slop and I refuse to cook them at home. Pizza is a great example, I do not care how easy it is to cook at home, if I am going to cook at home it is not going to be oily bread with oily cheese topped with shit after you smother the bread in oily sauce. If I want pizza it is going to be from a store or a restaurant because the food is supposed to be unhealthy and quick and convenient on a spiritual level, the same goes for hamburgers unless I am grilling in the back yard. That ground beef could be put to better use in stuffed dumplings or in a meatloaf.

Some foods are just better suited for restaurant cooking because they have better equipment, especially wrt thermal output. It's almost impossible to make great pizza at home because pizza ovens get twice as hot as the average home oven, Chinese restaurant wok stoves have way higher flames than a home gas stove, etc.

Likewise it's absolutely retarded to deep fry anything at home because the cost of oil alone makes it more expensive than buying slop out. Not to mention the disposal, cleaning, fire risk and smell getting into everything. Ugh

Svedka was great until they moved production to the US. Back in the day the shit made in Sweden was my go to cheapo vodka but the American version is terrible, like on par with plastic handle crap and it's all you can find now.

I like Sobieski the best for cheap but still nice quality. It's polish and made with rye so it has a bit of zing to it but in the same way as a good rye whiskey has, not in a gross rubbing alcohol way.

Or you do what my Asian neighbor does - little electric stove outside via extension cord and oil feeds the grass afterwards. You realistically need like a pan small enough to fit whatever you're trying to deep fry with enough oil to cover at least half of the thing you're frying, and then you just "meal prep" your week of slop all at once.

Agree with ya on industrial level of heat, but you don't use the stove inside your home for said pizza - you make your home the stove.

Not an negative thing about food, but I grew up learning a lot of the family recipes. Farm family shit, food that wasn't awesome but filled bellies so we made it to the next day. We didn't aim at taste, we aimed at survival and it hit hard, and a lot of people respected us for it. But over time, some of of our foods became something more. Today, I actually heard someone talk about food that was a struggle meal for me.

I heard some wanna-be food influencer brag about eating shit on a shingle. LIke, what? SOS? Fuck the hell off, that was what we ate for decades That is boot camp food. It's literally a beef or turkey commercial. This isn't some new food, it's literally a meal that a lot of us grew up on because we were poor as shit. Fuck off with that crap.

Odds are they found some small place that served a good meal, and now they want to ruin it for everyone. Why? Because god forbid any random person eat food better than what they do in the big city. Fuck the hell off. So sick and tired of these idiots ruining casual diners and armericana food for a click. I hope all of them get herpes.

Vegetables are good and anyone who dislikes them probably had a mom who cooked shiftily when they were a child or are shit cooks at the moment.

Protip: Don't boil them separately in a pot and then serve. This is especially important for brussel sprouts as the entire point of them is absorbing flavor, make an actual dish you lazy cunts

It doesn't taste like the smell of rotten onions and gasoline to you? I had cream puffs with a durian filling and that's exactly what I tasted, and it repeated on me throughout the day.

Before that, I tried frozen durian once, and it smelled like dirty gym socks. I could only eat it while holding my nose, but then I couldn't taste anything. Most likely these were two different varieties of durian, but neither were particularly pleasant.

it depends on the Durian species
I would suggest you try Black thorn or Nusan king.
but dont get scammed, because theres people who claim that its Blackthorn or Nusanking and turns out its some cheap species instead.

Asians make alot of genuine good desserts with Durian
like "Es Kopyor Durian"
which is coconut + red syrup + milk + ice and some durian added to the mix

I had a durian boba smoothie thing once too. It wasn't to my taste but it was the least revolting iteration of durian I have had.
