Curse my soft, mother's heart but I actually feel awful for the mom. Her son tranny'd at age 17 in 2020. I know it wasn't that long ago, but in terms of how culture regarded transgenderism that was practically last century. The "would you rather have a dead son or live daughter" bullshit was in full, uncontested swing then. She clearly loved her child to buy into it, she's not like Desmond's mom who forced it on her kid when he was prepubescent or capitalized on it when it happened. She went along with what doctors were saying and judging by the lack of PRIDE crap in her life, I think it's fair to say she had reservations.

Having your child die before you is one of the worst things in this world. Having your child die before you while committing a mass shooting is a whole other level. I don't blame her for hiring an attorney to blunt any media/law enforcement contact. If she wasn't Catholic, I'd be worried about her offing herself from the absolute agony of this.

Unlikely. Ethan Crumbley's parents were convicted, which is still questionable and they're appealing it, but he was a minor when he did his shooting. This fucker was an adult who bought his guns legally, per the authorities. Don't get me wrong, mom is morally responsible since it's her name on the "Affirm my child's gender delusions by legally changing his name" form, but it'll be a stretch to find her legally culpable for the shooting. I can maybe see the victims/victims' parents suing her down the road though.

Yeah, I need to know more before I condemn her. If she knew about this plot or provided the weapons then fuck her, but we all know how much of a terror these kids can be, especially when they know the state is on their side. It’ll all come out in the wash eventually.

Hell, if 3 year olds know their gender identity, then why not let them set public policy for the adults in the room?

The school district later added a second all-gender restroom on the same floor which it said was meant to address concerns of unfairness.

That’s how it was framed, but imagine it from her perspective. Her son just killed himself after shooting up a Catholic school and killing two kids. He was pretty obviously acting alone and whatever threat he posed had been self-neutralized. If they had any need to search anywhere she controlled, the police never needed her permission, any warrants needed would have been granted immediately. She could help solve the puzzle, sure, but she may have just wanted to take a few days to be normal for the last time and grieve her child while she had the last chance she’ll get to do so, especially considering it wouldn’t change anything about what had happened, and there’s no criminal investigation afoot where a bad guy is on the loose and a clock is ticking. He didn’t plant a bomb but she somehow knows the code to turn it off. He didn’t poison everyone and then mom has the antidote in a jewelry box in her bedroom.

I honestly don’t blame her. Let her be shocked and traumatized and sad for a few days. The more I learn about her the sadder I get.
