I'm glad we have this thread here, cause the main Christian thread always gets derailed due to Protestant/Catholic make snide comment to other, and the Catholics/Protestants sperg out for several pages.

Be careful you don't want to jinx this and cause this thread to get flooded with debates about reception of converts, and True Orthodoxy or whether Jay Dyer is a positive influence for Orthodoxy.

Bless it Sunday, everyone, or whatever day it is where you're at. Bless Saint. So Olga of Alaska, by the way, one of my friends did go to Alaska to visit Ratuma, he said it was a good experience. You should go if anybody's in Alaska.

May you all have a blessed Feast of the Elevation/Procession of the Cross

May you all have a blessed Dormition Fast.

I have a weird question. What is with the push to make? Rasputin A St The man was literally a whore mongering. Degenerate. Weirdo. Alcoholic. The same guy was talking to a friend of mine in church also said Cadriona is not a ST. Yes, the devout Christian who is martyred for the faith is in the St, but the whore mongering Rasputin is.

i don't know about disturbing, it is a mess to sort out if you come from a logical perspective like catholicism, lutheranism and calvinism.
It's not disturbing or difficult to sort out at all if you have a solid grasp of theology and Tradition as understood by both the Catholic and Orthodox churches. Apophatic and cataphatic theology complement each other and have their respective strengths. But this is not something a layman can deal with unless they have a very deep interest in theology and years in the church.

A convert shouldn't be looking into this stuff. You simply don't understand it and don't have the period of formation in your faith or your parish necessary to understand it. A great analogy in the Catholic church is the convert will understand the Faith as if they were as old in person as the age they converted. It's a very humbling statement.

If you are genuinely willing to convert to one of the apostolic churches you need to humble yourself and accept your ignorance. It's no different from Catholic converts who complain about how the priest does X when he should have done Y (although liturgical abuses are never acceptable).

Do Orthodox recognize the pope as the anti-Christ?
No.

in the reformed world, apophatic theology isn't a thing in the same way lapsarianism isnt a thing in eo. and theological study is the key stone of reformed christianity; john calvin was a lawyer after all. one could say its a feature of the west in general. protestants are keen scriptureproofers.

of course.
