This is because they are full of consoomers who will defend it because of the IP's name in big, bold, shiny, bright letters. That or the comment section is full of bots. Or it's just both of these.

If it didn't have the gay shit in it I might have actually seen it. I like the art style and weird places it seems to be going.
Aside from the obvious black April, I'm just hoping there isn't any leftist political agenda. Yes, the art style is great. The directors have cited stuff like the original Tony Hawk Skateboarding game as one of the movie's influence (especially in art style), and I can sorta see it really.

The thing that will put me off is them making Don obnoxiously gay. Like if they never mention it directly cool. But You know they are going to shove it front and center.
It's 50/50 to me as well. The people behind it can either still have him gay but not mention him and just be a regular character, or have him gay by shoehorning in leftist political ideology. Some things in media can do the former, but it's rare as most things in media also border on the latter.

But I think I'd rather have Donatello be gay in this incarnation. No fucking way would it be acceptable for him to have a crush on this April.

I like it, the shading is just like the duo-tone Mirage used to use.
I mean for the longest time, I had a thought that Don might be gay. I mean, would we ever believe he would have the shots for April? No. Even Raph, Mike or Leo are better off with April.

I feel like this is going to bomb or underperform.
At best, Paramount needs to break even the movie's budget worldwide to consider it a success at the box office. Otherwise, yes probably gonna underperform.

It'll unfortunately make more than the TMNT 2007 movie. That was a budget of 34 million and made back almost 100 million because the world was more sane back then.

They managed to make Master Splinter look even more like a cartoonish version of Ratatouille from Disney. That is not something you would expect to see from a franchise like TMNT.
