Eve looks VERY different from this one.

Or could this woman be the offspring between her and Adam. Who knows.
The protagonist is called Evie and she's another Airborne Assault Squad member.

I assume they look similar because they're clones or manufactured by the same place or something.

Eve, Tachy, and Raven all look very similar so it's probably a clone trooper situation.

I don't see it officially stated, but it must be a prequel since it shows thriving civilization and humans turning into Naytibas. I'm excited to see all the backstory the first game gave us turn into something we can see firsthand.

Some thoughts from one who played the first Stellar Blade game very thoroughly when it first came out:
  • I'm very interesting in playing to see where things go and if it improves upon the first game.
  • I don't mind a new protagonist at all since Eve is a dull character anyway. In fact, I always felt that there was a strong possibility that a sequel would have a different protagonist anyway because using Eve again would necessitate canonizing one of the first game's very-different endings, and I don't think I've ever heard of a game doing that.
  • Evie looks fine, and she's obviously going to have a a ton of hair and clothing options to change things up. I recall that one of Eve's hair options looked way better than the default pretty much just be adjusting the blunt bangs to a side sweep.
  • Punching is great, something new to see rather than just doing swordplay again that still looks exciting and impactful. Also strongly distinguishes Evie from Eve.
  • Curiously no drone in sight, but I strongly suspect you'll have one and that this trailer only shows the game's opening. I can't imagine this game going without guns at all, though I can certainly go without those gun-only sections in the first game.
  • The environment looks good, but I hope it's not just the first level like Eidos 7 that leads into desolate open worlds.
  • I hope the VAs actually emote this time, but what we hear from Evie and her operator does not give me confidence. Evie sounds just as flat at Eve, but gruff instead of demure.
  • I hope the story isn't ass this time. I suspect the devs heard this a lot, but I've vaguely heard that Nikke's story hasn't been so hot either.
  • The trailer screams prequel, but Geoff Keighley immediately emphasized that it's a sequel taking place after the first game. With this in mind, I suspect that this game takes place on the Colony, which is always where I wanted the sequel to go, one reason why I prefer the "Return to the Colony" ending the most since it gives that sequel hook.
  • I always hated Naytibas, gross bio-monsters, and much rather preferred the robotic enemies. I thought the first game put an end to them, so I'm puzzled over why they're popping up again in a sequel. Perhaps the idea is that this is a new Naytiba strain that infects androids?
  • I hope there are more Angel characters in this game. Tachy turned out to be barely present despite the first game's pre-release marketing, and maniacal Raven was the best character in the game, but stuck as the surprise villain at the end. I think the easiest thing to do is have this game's antagonists be a squad of Angels, presented up front and dispersed as bosses throughout the game. The trailer sets up that jaw dude as the antagonist, though.
Already having seen some fussy chatter about Evie's babyface on other parts of the internet, I suspect there's a good chance that we'll hear Null's vocal disapproval of this new game at some point, as he had with the first one.

Shift Up clarified it's a direct sequel to Stellar Blade not a prequel or spinoff.
Alright, that definitely interests me far more than a prequel as I wanted to see a continuation of the first game. I wonder if the city area is in the colony. I also wonder if Eve will appear at some point.

If the game actually looks that good in reality its one of the best looking games ever made, hands down.

It won't look like that, but hey, I'm silly, ill entertain that possibility.

Evie throwing hands, gives me God Hand vibes, looking forward to the game. I like her simple design and combat looks fun, hope we can get cool gaunlets to equip. I do wonder how the story will go considering the ending of SB1, fuck it ill be too busy beating people to give a shit.

Evie looks cute in some frames and like a 5-year-old gook child in others. Not a big fan of that face model.
That said, the setting's cool, punching shit is fun, and the music sounds like it'll be as good as ever, so yeah, I'll pick it up.

I too am getting Godhand vibes from the trailer. As I said earlier in the thread, I'm curious if Shinji Mikami has any influence on the game's development since he joined Shift Up. Probably the best thing shown today aside from news of more Cuphead games.
