Some people are pointing out that the background of the key visual looks like it came out of AI. I think it's probably true in some part, but I don't expect Asia has such loud qualms over using AI as the West does, and in this specific case, it actually fits in as chaotic aged cyberpunk architecture that we already saw out of Xion in the first game.

In any case, I think we can also expect there to be a big fuss among journos/reddit/etc. when Shift Up inevitably mentions using AI in their workflow.

My hopes
-better quests
To elaborate more on this, a problem with the side quests in the first game that stood out to me from a narrative standpoint is that a lot of them really lay it on thick about suspicious things going on in the world, such as with Mother Sphere and Xion. But Eve is incredibly daft about all of this and never acts on what these side quests impart because the game's overall story has to assume that the player hasn't done them and that Eve only knows what's given to her on the critical path. And when you think about it, there really isn't much that happens on the critical path.

Considering how comparable Nier Automata is with pretty much the same premise, I think that game deals with side quests a lot better because their stories are rather divorced from the game's big mysteries and don't give the protagonists reason to think and act differently about what they're doing.

Really, only 5%? Nothing in the final chapter is as hard as what you had previously.
I meant Hollow Knight itself, where only about 5% of players on Steam have the achievement for beating the final pantheon which unlocks an ending that shows the knight transforming into a form called Void Given Focus which it briefly takes in Silksong's true ending.

Shift Up has openly used AI in its marketing materials in the past, like this one picture where everyone has fake faceapp smiles 0c631786fffa39e5c990e8a4e39de7497a329879dc10c85af57f5f6bad79590a.jpg
and this one with Lily in an engine room with all kinds of details that look off.

Huh. I'm normally pretty critical of this kind of thing but it didn't bother me here for some reason.
I guess because her name isn't Bimbo Slamhound, Ace Detective. She's just plain old Bimbo Slamhound.

But Evie on the other hand looks like a very interesting person with a great personality who we should all be nice to so yeah I hope this one's a lot deeper in that respect.

Some additional stuff from the Gematsu interview.

Game's been in development for about a year and all art assets are complete.

Evie is part of an Angel strike force targeting terrorists using Natybas as bioweapons Resident Evil style.

Evie's default combat style is a brawler but she will be able to to use swords, spears, and firearms each with their own skill trees.

The city setting is heavily inspired by both Ghost In The Shell and Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Biggest focus is on main story and more expansive side content.

Eve will make an appearance in some capacity

Evie is indeed an adult woman in her 20s (probably confirmed due to pedo accusations)

What's the point of age when they are all androids? Hope they do the city well and don't try to force a sandbox.

Gonna be a while then I’m sure. Oh well.

Oh nice. Even though I would’ve been fine with just a fighting type game I like that they’re adding other weapons. Spears are a nice addition.

Airbagged's loyal sloppy dickrider and serial autistic stalking sperg KillerDucky claims that the new protagonist looks like a boy and it's now called Stellar Woke. He's also sperging that he's not a leftist, but he's a pro-woke hypocrite like the others (Wargamingdad21, Lucas Kim, GrimnoGhost, Ginacarlo Collado, TTBN, Carlos Xavier Castro, Detective Roo, etc.), just to be mentally obsessed with "owning the anti-woke chuds". After getting so much shit from people, he now claims that he's "joking", but his sperging full of stalking & harassing is the butt of the joke, enough for him to become lolcow material. The sad thing is, he just keeps sperging and sperging all day, every day. You have to see for yourself.

All I know is that his name is Shaun / Shawn, and he's from the UK in Buckinghamshire (Great British).

So they're still keeping a lid on whether the game takes place in the Colony.

I was wondering how they would fill out a skill tree with just punching with the same expansiveness that the sword got in the first place, but I guess the answer is that they won't and instead they'll give you multiple weapons. I hope punching doesn't end up feeling shortchanged as a result of this. I think it's likely that weapons can be changed dynamically mid-combat in the manner of Dante style-switching.

Yeah, I had already mostly figured out the game's shocking twist the minute I entered Altess Levoire and between the bestiary entries for the monsters there and lore entry you find inside about Angels of Death falling from the skies it was confirmed.
