There were exactly 2 direct crossovers between TNG and DS9 (and there should have been more.) The first was the thematically important first episode of DS9 where Sisko and Picard had an epic conversation/confrontation. This was nothing less than an early declaration from DS9 about how it would be different from TNG... and the second was when Riker randomly called up Quark to get some info about the TNG plot of the week. Between the two of them, we are literally talking about less than 10 minutes total, over 14 cumulative seasons of television.
My bad, I guess Worf becoming a permanent cast member never happened and doesn't count as a TNG crossover.

Yeah, no. Worf didn't join DS9 until after TNG ended. That isn't a crossover. It'd make more sense if you said O'Brien being a main character from the beginning on DS9 was a "crossover" (and you'd still be wrong because like Worf, he transferred from TNG to DS9.)

As luck would have it though, I did actually forget about one more actual TNG/DS9 crossover, it was the one where Bashir met Data. My bad.

The concept has some potential. It'd be interesting and hilarious to look at the blue-collar esque workers aboard a starship. Everyone pays attention to the leaders and a few of the officers,
Yes and the Orville sort of does it already, it still focuses on "the bridge crew" but..the bridge crew are the C roster..instead of the "Best of the best of the beeest" that Star Trek focuses on.

It wasn't enough that the cheesier side of Sci-Fi space operas couldn't be kept natural.

No, we have to do it a ninth time to see where the same exact repeat formula goes.

It's not even sincere, it's just one big "fuck you" to the fans followed by "always has been".

Being sincere with quirkiness is the easiest part of making an engaging cast, and modern entertainment fucks that up.

Somebody make it stop. Please just make it stop.

No, media has just been dominated by nepotism to the point that utterly incompetent and sheltered kids have grown up and moved into the top positions and nobody knows what they are doing.

The phenomenon of the incompetent son running his fathers business into the ground expanded to an entire industry.

Yes, the writing and casting is garbage, but do not think that they didn't consciously choose to shit on Trek fans at every opportunity. That seems to literally be entire point of the Picard series. That they get to defile something that their enemies loved might be the only reason many are involved in these projects.

M-m-morty, t-t-that's the *burp* power of math, morty.

If they used this in Rick and Morty to shit on Star Trek Discovery I would forgive them of some of their sins.

Yall member when we all thought that Picard's "evil frenchman" persona was the ultimate nadir of the franchise?

At this stage I am utterly convinced there is some supernatural force at play that actively seeks to torment us by driving franchises we love into the dirt, and then the moment we think things cant possibly get any worse, they break out the fucking jackhammer and start digging down to Tartarus

Star Trek Picard was basically Patrick Stewart going apeshit and doing whatever the fuck he wanted. A lot of the terrible shit rests with him. Such as not wanting to put on a uniform. They let him in the writer's room and God fucking knows what he did. They gave Stewart a degree of creative control because he wouldn't do it otherwise.

So a lot of it rests on Stewart because God fucking knows what shit he inserted to an already shit plot.

Soooooo... will they release a trailer with actual humor in it, too, at some point?
Must be a huge hit if they shut down comments and don't display the like/dislike ratio. Massive vote of confidence, I tell you.
No seriously, how many times will they shit out the exact opposite of what fans want and still not get why they fail?
It's surreal.

It represents something a despise about a lot of modern animation. That show "Central Park" is a palette swapped Bob's Burgers. This show is a palette swapped Rick and Morty. Go back and watch some older Warner Brothers cartoons. There were some common themes and tropes across shows, but they didn't look literally identical so their sister shows. Even Futurama had its own character versus The Simpsons.

These new shows are the same assets with a different color typed into the "fill" command.
When I first saw Disenchantment's trailer, I thought the Elf was just a Bart rehash (for obvious reasons) and Teabeany sort of reminded me of Fry visually, turns out the show, albeit being a bit poorly structured, is entirely its own thing.

But you know what really slays me: Classic Tom and Jerry went through a few different styles and it strikes me as visually more differentiated than Rick and Morty vs. Lower Decks is.

I mean, check it out.

The character Design is always the same with only slight variations and it still looks more varied than putting these two next to each other:

Mike will edit it so he's debating himself.
Wouldn't it be nice if Mike made a video where he dresses up and pretends to be Rich?
I'm still on the fence whether it should be made in the style of a really shitty cosplay or if he should go full Silence of the Lambs and make a costume that looks like he's wearing Rich's face as a mask.

It doesn't seem like the entire point of Picard was to fuck over fans, that is precisely and factually the entire point behind the show, according to an article the writers themselves released somewhere. Doomcuck had a video on it, if you can get through his traditional whining about lost subs at the start of every video, it is sort of mind blowing to see that article.

Being attractive is sexist, you bigot.
Nice things are bigoted.
