I can't wait until they try to force a Corporate Approved™ Astro-Turfed Pickle Rick meme on this trash heap.

"Major, I assure you I would never find a way to get out of talking to Quark"

The character Design is always the same with only slight variations and it still looks more varied than putting these two next to each other:
I'm surprised they included such hefty sex differences. Cut off their heads and you could still identify their sex. By Streaming Poz standards that's practically heresy anymore. Netflix trannies are probably already penning articles on how that aspect is 'white supremacy' and 'rape culture'.

That ship design looks fucking stupid.

Also, where are the fucking aliens? I don't count green lesbians. I know why, when filming live, there are practical restrictions on alien designs for a show, or a movie, but with animation you can let your imagination run wild, and get creative. All we get here is a bunch of boring, interchangeable humans.

Is imagination just another 'privilige' we're not allowed to have, anymore?

Remember the wild aliens in the old animated series?

Not much to say thats already been said, but this does a gigantic disservice to its namesake in both regards. Lower Decks was definitely one of my favorite episodes from TNG and whoever read the episode summary and thought about making Rick and Morty jokes with it should be taken out back.

It truly boggles my mind how we go from this
to ayy lmao space pickle rick.

Oh fuck me. Cause and Effect. This fucking episode!!

I hated this episode because after you get through all the mildly interesting time loop stuff, you get to this part. And Captain Picard says, "Perhaps you should beam aboard our ship. There's something we need to discuss." A discussion that would have been really fucking interesting considering the two actors involved and which would have made for an excellent second half of a two-parter that spans multiple different themes and moods. You would have Captain Picard attempting to grapple with the crew of the Bozeman having lost 90 years of time and being in a future where everyone they love is probably dead. It would have been a much more intimate and interesting experience than the fanservice that was Relics.

Instead the credits roll and they never talk about it again. And no, I'm not reading the novelization, I wanted to see Kelsey Grammer on TNG.

It looks so stereotypical, complete with the beta male "lead" and sassy, smirking female lead who is probably smarter than everyone else, tedious, I know. It's not just that it looks like Rick & Morty, it looks like every other "animation for adults" these days - for years the idea has been implanted in the heads of too many people that American animation "for adults" is just animated sitcoms, and they've gotten even worse - too many "adult" cartoons are the same now; no actual jokes, just embarrassing cringe and a lot of shouting because being loud is funny in itself, I suppose.

Última edición:
We're going to get to the point where Battlefield Earth will be rebooted and it will be better received than Trek.

- mrw I realise the reddit untermensch are gonna consoom this shit to have atleast three seasons -
Of course they will, the official Star Trek subreddit is sanitized even by reddit standards. As far as I know they delete all posts containing Red Letter Media reviews of the newer stuff (not sure about all the old stuff Mike did even before Star Wars) citing reasons like "keeping the subreddit safe" or "keeping things civil". It's actually pretty fucking disgusting, the official Star Trek subforum on the biggest discussion site on the internet, the first thing most people will come across when naively looking for a place to talk about ST, actively removes discussion to brainwash people into consooming. I know, I know, it's nothing new when it comes to reddit bit this one really annoys me.

I dont get the visual comparison to Rick and Morty. To me it looks like they just took Futurama and put a "current year + 5" veneer on it.

Regardless, the tone is not star trek and it's gonna be super gay. I meant that in the purely derogatory sense, but with things being what they are I'm sure it will also be packed with homosexuals for some reason.
