Reorganization of September 29th, 2025

But then we look at the front page and see Lolcows and Community Watch. What the fuck does that mean? What person logs in and is thinking to themselves

Ah come on Null, don't act like I don't e at xist :(. I believe 80% of my time here was browsing Community Watch (whenever I wasn't meddling in the off-topic threads), and I shall miss it dearly.

... I mean, I'm just being overdramatic since you can still click the tag to filter things you'd like to see, but eh, it was nice doing things with one less click. I will also miss the diseased and plagued tags even though they were useless most of the time.

Signed up after an eternity of lurking specifically to fuck up my name and also to voice my strong displeasure of change. That is all.

The distinctions between a lot of the categories didn't make a whole lot of sense, and often finding where someone's thread was located was just part of the learning curve of the site that I think it could do without. The only change I don't like is getting rid of community watch. Sometimes I just want to see what bluesky, ResetEra, or the Rowling haters have been up to. It's funny seeing whatever has had their panties in a twist. Just them being threads not centered around a single person make them distinct enough to keep separate from other lolcow threads; it feels like a distinction worth making.

Yay, searching for retards on the internet has thus been made easier for retards like me! Thanks Kim Jong-Null!

>go to Lolcow to read about some retarded but otherwise harmless idiot
>get jumpscared by KeroTheWolf and other literal dog rapists

(:_(
I feel like horrorcows should have their own section but maybe that's way too much darkness and misery for one forum to contain.

Maybe you need dedicated highlight mods or something, because going through an active ICE shooter thread and the highlights are NOT the post with his dox, or the post with his roof painting, or even the post with his sister's butthole; this is not the farms.
I have noticed that highlights seem purely reaction count based; that is to say that a post with 100+ negates will get highlighted the same as a post with 100+ mixed or positive reactions. I’m not suggesting a Reddit downvote and collapse style alternative or anything, but it does suck especially in fast moving happening threads to be browsing highlights to catch up on information and get several attention whores/shit flingers as results. I agree maybe filtering or weighing negative reactions from being highlights might be a good solution.

It seems like a lot of the sprawl is due to you trying to break out sections that are highly active to try to insulate other threads/areas from a spill over of retardation. An example would be the Balldoverse section you created. Is there any value in creating a section for hot topics or do people just need to learn to regulate their own threads?

Also any concerns over section-bans with how you merged stuff? I know there was some consideration to the move of stinkditch because of that - though that's probably entirely a matter of keeping the lady's section regulated to some degree.

It's like when my local supermarket decides to renovate the store but changes where everything is, I don't like it but I'll get used to it i guess

After checking in on the handful of threads that I keep up with regularly I usually bumble around and see what's bumped. Having the bulk of them in one place I think makes that easier and I am more likely to peek in on new threads since I am not just sifting through the internet tough guys board or searching for specific threads to see if anything interesting has happened. The autistic labels have been a pain as far as going to certain boards to see if my guys have been bumped only to find that they were moved to some new weird sub category. People can still huddle together if they want within the board, and now it's easier to see when something is bubbling up without waiting for a community feature post to summarize it.

I do appreciate how the Off-Topic boards are now much more visible than they were previously. The lolcow boards are all well and good, but I'd be lying through my teeth if I said that I spend an inordinate amount of time on Kiwi Farms keeping up with USPOL2, AnisaAndI, and Kino Casino. Off-Topic boards are where the true fun of Kiwi Farms, as an online platform, exists. I've literally gotten more mileage and value from Off-Topic threads about Linux, hair care, skin care, budgeting, and fitness than I did from equivalent subreddits.

Kinda inevitable
As the site grows, so do the categories.
As the categories do, there ends up more and more overlap. It's not like 2014 where lolcows were part of established gated communities

(:_(At least if we've retained the same amount we're gaining as many new people as losing old people, stagnancy isn't decline
Quality of users > quantity of users
imo

Atleast for us, as users. Not so much for Null.
