I remember when people saw the NintendLand announcement and thought it meant an actual theme park. Then Super Nintendo World becomes a thing years later. Good times.

Hours after nintendo direct, PlayStation also added some of the game trailers into their channel uploads. Also the kingdom Hearts remasters still looked solid on ps5. WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH DO I NEED THIS? I refuse to waste 100 GBs of my ps5 storage on a slight enhancement

That's not exactly why I'm surprised Stellar Blade dropped. For the longest time, it's been linked to PlayStation exclusively. So seeing drop on Switch 2 over the XBOX consoles was interesting
Yeah I don't know what I expected from this direct, not a reason to even emulate Switch 2 games that's for sure. Did not expect KH4 but I didn't care for KH to begin with so eh. Duskbloods is hilarious, if it weren't for FromSoft's rabid fanbase I'd consider that game to be a disaster. Hell it still might be, a seemingly online only game exclusively on a console made by a company notorious for having shitty servers, developed by a company also notorious for having shitty servers (so shit in fact that they somehow managed to get both DS3 and Elden Ring vulnerable to RCE)? I guess Nightreign did well enough that sadly we have to get a Bloodborne version of it.
The new FF game looks interesting, it looks like it has that spirit thing that FE Engage did so they can bring iconic characters, probably worth playing if it's as decent as the Octopath games. Speaking of FE, I am alone in feeling like this new game looks boring? I'm fairly good at describing what I dislike about something but for whatever reason I am at a complete loss on how to express my discontent with what I've seen. All I can really say is I'll hope I'll be at least neutral on it like I was with 3H, rather than hating it like Engage.
A remake of OOT...lol, lmao even. For Xenoblade, I stopped caring after X. I did like X but I just never got interested in 2 or 3 like I did 1 and X. I liked Rayman Legends but I don't feel like a remaster of it is worth my time, like 99% of remasters. DD2 getting DLC makes me sad, that game was such a fucking disappointment even when I set my expectations low (it's Capcom after all) so seeing it finally get DLC (lol Dark Arisen again, are they that creatively bankrupt?) and knowing the game will be pretty much exactly the same as it was on release means the DLC will not be worth it. Reminds me of MHWilds's expansion, where the base game is so shit that no DLC can fix it.
Onimusha looks interesting at least but I expect it to be Denovo'd and unplayable on my hardware (lol like I'm playing it on a Switch). Rhythm Heaven Groove is cool, I liked Fever and Megamix so I'll probably enjoy this one if I get around to emulating it.
And that's all I had even the most remote interest in this direct. Everything else was just not interesting. If this is what Nintendo fans can expect then I can only laugh at them more.

So far, I haven't seen much issues with the RE engine. After playing RE7, Village, SF 6 and PRAGMATA, I like it. Frostbite Engine could be better. But Bethesda needs to use a new engine. It'll only take a few more projects before it becomes a nightmare like the Luminous Engine.
I don't think I've ever played a game where the fucking Game engine legit made a console sound like a jet engine with how that shit show ran FF15.

The character design is really lacking. I don’t have much of an issue with them clearly trying to go more African/Arabic, but none of the designs stick out beyond the attractive dancer girl and maybe the muscle mommy 4chan is having infernal lust over.
Cai is a weird mulatto Zoomer twink that is taking the brunt of the hate given how shit his design is. It is weird how Claude from 3H was actually well designed yet they cannot pull off that kind of charming again. Then you have Deitrich who is just Castlevania Alucard.
The story doesn’t have much of a hook either, just seems very nothing so far with the only thing of note being the desperate attempt to connect this to 3H rather than letting it be its own thing. 3H did far better building excitement with later trailers as the time skip and new designs built a sense of mystery as to the second half of the game. This has done nothing of the sort.
Leda is the only thing I latched onto as she seems to be this game’s Dimitri and has by far the best design. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that she will devolve into “sexism in the FE community” like every controversial female character.
There's still plenty of good games out there from the past decade or two.
I find myself playing stuff from a few years ago mostly because it's obvious that the industry got caught out by the component crisis and are spinning their wheels before committing to actual new stuff.
Get a PS+/Gamepass sub, make sure to redeem the couple of free Epic Games Store titles they have every week and pick up cheap stuff on Steam deals/CD key sellers. You'll always have something to play.
