Whatever it will be about, it sounds insane. Especially the criticizing the Saudi's part (...since Lindsay has previously said she wanted all the Saudi royals to get shot out of the sky via cruise missiles). The Saudis are no saints, don't get me wrong - but you'd think someone who wants to one day work in Hollywood, wouldn't call out such a major Hollywood financer?

Disney tends to get her a lot of views and attention so I'm not surprised she keeps going back to them. It's also an easy way for her to look like she knows what she's talking about without having to do any of that pesky research because she already knows about the movies and a lot of behind the scenes stuff since she's genuinely interested in Disney. Unlike, say, JK Rowling where she would have to look into things she's unfamiliar with, which she does poorly.

And yeah, the last book in the trilogy came out and tanked like the other two. But you're not allowed to mention that on TV Tropes because pointing out actual sales numbers is misogyny.

Ah, the pivot to political nonfiction, the last refuge of the legitimacy chasing fiction author whose sales burned them on that side of the fence.

Don't need to worry about that with non-fiction. 99 percent of these might as well roll off the presses into a mulcher. Presidential nominees and movie stars routinely struggle to sell these, much less a burned out YouTuber.

If it wasn't commonly used for political money laundering, most publishers wouldn't touch the genre at this point, it bleeds money.

Viking is a legit press, but I doubt this gets a big push from them. I actually know of the editor who picked this up, she's Eastern European, and her English comprehension is one step above most mail order brides. I'm betting once again, an acquisitions editor saw her YouTube numbers and decided to roll the dice.

I'm guessing sales fail to break a few hundred, but sales aren't the goal here, its academic legitimacy. Lindsay's chasing the lecture circuit, trying to appear to be a deep thinker.

I say try because... well, she's still Lindsay Ellis, and even with heavy editing and a team of writers, and Nebula pushing her, there are five dozen like her with the same "bold opinions" in every liberal arts campus in America.

What she failed to mention, which Alan Menken talks about in the documentary, is that Aladdin came about because they were heavily influenced by an old black and white film (a comedy?) as well as old Max Fletcher cartoons (they use one with a Genie) and possibly The Garden of Allah (its the film Cyndi Lauper watches in the Time After Time music video). So even then, minor as it may be, its hilarious she conveniently missed the mark on this.

We live in a time when plenty of people resisted thinking Blake Lively was the villain in the "It Ends With Us" drama also (as if somehow being married to Ryan Reynolds wasn't a dead giveaway she was a class-A cunt).
