It's really too bad that the N64 controller is locked behind a paywall, but I don't think many games work with it outside the Nintendo membership besides Super Mario 64 and the new Star Fox?

I played the Star Fox demo with the N64 controller and it was just like going home again. It worked exactly like it should. A lot of people are complaining about how they setup the button mapping on the Switch 2 controller. I saw this after I tried it out so I didn't mess around with it myself.

Yeah I tried the demo and the lasers were mapped to A and the bombs are mapped to Y (or whatever the right and left face buttons are) This means that in order to fire a bomb after locking on you have to claw grip to keep the laser button held down and use another finger to tab the bomb button

I did check the menu for controls but the only options were axis inversion and combination inputs, which allows you to hold up and boost to perform a somersault and back to U-turn. I don't use bombs much when locking on in Star Fox 64 but this is still a massive oversight and makes it needlessly cumbersome

Iirc Zelda's way bigger in the West than in Japan. Also they have both, which is because of the Jews.
While they’re getting some shitty browns now, let’s not pretend it’s on the scale of the avg. Western European country let alone the U.S. Also, if they were catering more to their Japanese audience what would they specifically gun for beyond what has been announced so far? At the very least they announced a new rhythm heaven and a new dragon quest game. last direct they got games like pokopia and other Japan appealing games, so it seems like the domestic market is taken care of (rather than being spat upon á la Sony).

Brother, if you actually really care about that, you can get cheap knockoff N64 controllers that are just as good, or keep the official one, using an adapter to play the same games on your PC instead of your switch (I do this with the Gamecube). You have the ability to play all N64 games ever released on your PC, with the same controller, with more quality of life features, button mapping, and visual options. You can play them all, for free, and they don't suddenly turn off when you don't pay your "rent forever" tax to goytendo...

Work smarter not harder.

You know, I am shocked they never went for LEGO Nintendo or any of Nintendo’s IPs. It isn’t like Nintendo didn’t work with LEGO, they had LEGO City Undercover.

Nintendo has the large casts to fit a LEGO game. One could easily make a LEGO Mario or Pokémon where you get like 100+ characters to mess around with. The Wii U would have been the perfect time for it, but now that era is passed and LEGO makes big boy games now.
I would totally buy an official LEGO Zelda or Metroid title (or Sonic, which ain't Big N, but still).

...Wow.

I promise it's not that serious. I had the chance to play the demo with the Nintendo Store N64 controller, so I did, and I really liked it. That's all. I can absolutely go and buy a knockoff after. I just didn't care enough to do my homework yet and see if some of those have better compatibility than others. I know for sure the official Nintendo one works. I don't like talking about things I have no knowledge about, so I didn't bring up knockoffs or an adapter.

Remember him?

I don't even really disagree with what you're saying about paying Nintendo for the privilege of using an emulator that can run on a toaster for free, but this part is an absolute cope. Knock off N64 controllers are famously terrible.
Yeah, stuff like this is absolute garbage.

Then spend more money on an official one, it's no skin off my nose. Considering the N64 controller's infamously wonk design I wonder why any gamestop-tier PC controller wouldn't be adequate enough. You don't need pressure sensitive buttons or motion control or anything, so when it comes to old systems like that I'm totally fine with using my Xbox controller. At most for Gen 5 and older you typically need the base buttons, directional sticks, and L+R if your game is feeling frisky. Sure I like using an official controller for my GC games because of the ergonomic feel (and you need the triggers for games like Sunshine), but overall madcats shit works just as well, as do the aforementioned Xbox controllers.

The salient point is to escape from eternal milking grifts, you have everything you need at home, right now, to never play modern slop again if you so choose. Not too long ago I played Chrono Trigger for the first time as a ripe 30 year old, I would recommend it over any modern day ubislop or edgy walkie-talkie simulator. The vetted well of the past is completely open to you right now.

i fucking hate nintendo but apparently the xitter algo decided it was germane to inform me they will be implementing anti-scalper measures for switch 2 sales starting next month

sony has supposedly done something similar in the past but the results were iffy at best, let's see if the other PRODUCT manages to successfully dissuade these absolute subhuman parasites

Just gonna vent a bit but the nintedo switch is obviously a lemon console.. Booted the gamecube few week ago and it still work wonder. With the nintendo switch we already got the infamous joycon drift (ÙThe blue one sensor stopped working long ago so it unusuable unless docked to the console)plus now the console don't charge the remote that well sometime it just dosen't

This is the default control scheme of Starfox 1, although of course that had alternate control schemes and modern controllers have z buttons.

Get one of these bad boys. Way better than Nintendo's shitty, overprices joycons. Only downside is you weirdly can't charge and use it at the same time. It's like charging disables the USB C port. I'm going to assume that's more on Nintendo than the manufacturer of this device.

look bulky, awkward to use.. and the button layout aren't authentic

Última edición:
Still no word on Duskbloods; I think Miyazaki is concentrating on his other project. I bet the Switch 2 is a bitch to program for, as it is so technologically cucked. I would not be surprised if FromSoft canned it, as Miyazaki has really high standards, and from all accounts I could see of the GamesCom demo, it was awful.

Waiting on Hori to come out with a split-pad pro, that was prob the best 3rd party one during switch 1s era
