I made an image that summarises the leaks about Nintendo for 2027:

I am genuinely seething at Star Fox Adventures, the whole thing is a mess and has nothing to do with Star Fox. If this rumor ended up being true they better work their ass off to make it great.
Also they have to make a decision: either scrap Krystal completely or give her far more content in the remake.

Regarding Xenoblade I only managed to finish the first game during the lockdown and it was fantastic. Unfortunately they showered us with 2 , 3 and X not to mention the DLCs added later so I was completely stunned. Now from the looks of it, Xenoblade Three Houses Genesis is a standalone game so I think it’s safe to start with it while holding the rest until much later or if we got another Covid 19 whichever comes first

Sorry if it isn't clear but the Star Fox Adventures thing is NOT a remake.

The leak claimed there will be a new "adventure-style Star Fox" which sounds more like a brand new game inspired by Adventures.

Assuming it isn't false, I’m assuming the remake of super will be done by the same team as Dread? The lack of a new super Mario in the launch window is strange though; it's not weird to think they won't release a new 3D Mario game next year even if it isn't confirmed. I take it none of these leaks have much evidence and are just speculation?

The evidence is that the same guy who leaked these also leaked: Star Fox, Switch Sports sequel and Ocarina of Time Remake.

Mario Kart has pretty consistently been the best selling Mario game on every Nintendo system for the last 20 years. They probably view it as more of a tentpole title than the platformer series at this point. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold substantially more than Odyssey and Wonder combined. I think Mario Kart is just the main Mario series now... not saying if that's good or bad, I just think that's how Nintendo sees it these days.

I need clarification...so some games are not physical even though they come in physical boxes correct? This is where the key cards come into play?
The key is basically an old school pc game security dongle, you stick it in the switch and the switch goes ok I'll download it to your device and if you wanna play you need your dongle inserted to prove you have physical ownership.

(incidentally, this "industrial-level" physical dongle lockout protection "technology" has been relegated to literal non-consumer industrial equipment for decades now ... until good ol' Nintendo dragged it back kicking and screaming)

It's all the downsides of physical (i.e. it doesn't work if you lose or damage it) combined with the downsides of digital (i.e. requires online access to acquire and quite possibly requires it to play at all, even if it's single-player-only), for an added premium! Yay innovation!

Some are physical, some are key cards.

The key cards are basically just a code on a chip that unlocks a digital version of the game. Many publishers opt to use them because they are cheaper.

Something like Mario Kart World, for example, actually comes on the card when you buy it. While there are updates, the whole game is on the little card and it's playable out of the box without connecting to the Internet.
Oh I will bookmark this thank you for the information! It's like the spider man 2 game that came with my ps5.

You know there’s something poetic about “jerking it” meme

Since Iwata‘s death, it was very clear that Yoshiaki and friends had this mentality of “No fun allowed” in pretty much all Directs because they don’t want to turn into memes.

That’s why Switch 1 reveal felt lame
That’s why Switch 2 reveal felt doubly lame
The whole funny skits they used to do back in 3DS reveal for example is nowhere to be seen because we are serious business

Now fast forward to the last direct, I guess Yoshiaki forgot his oath and gotten carried away in the thumb wrestling game that no one asked .. we got this gem that eclipsed everything revealed here
This whole thing reminded me of “The more you fear something, the more likely it is to occur” or something to this effect

Sakurai can do the funniest shit ever in the upcoming Super Smash
He’s retiring soon, isn’t he? Might as well burn the whole thing down

I have suggested that before, it would be really funny if Miles Mackenzie was a playable fighter in Smash Bros. It could generate a huge salt mine.

I miss when companies did their presentations live, in front of a live audience. Went back and watched Sony’s 2006 EA presentation. Even though they showed off a bunch of demos of PS3 games that wouldn’t release that year, the energy was something else.

Bring back the live presentations

They've suffered too many humiliations to ever allow for live presentations of marketing material ever again. Nevermind the fact that even the most cringe-worthy presentations drew attention and (with few exceptions, like some of Ubisoft's idiotic shit) wound up a net positive for the games being promoted.

Of course, then there was this:
demonstrating why you fucking rehearse before a live performance, but Ubisoft aren't one to learn the right lessons from their mistakes.

I member when Reggie played into the "my body is ready" meme.

For the past couple of weeks my switch 2 has been randomly losing the video signal in the middle of gameplay, forcing me to toggle the inputs to get it back. It has continued to do this after a new HDMI cable AND a new doc AND a new TV and for some reason I have only seen it happen at my house, I played for about 4 hours at my parents house last weekend to see if it would happen there and it didn't, and when I tried to get help on the switch 2 subreddit my post was instakilled because of karma BS. The only difference with my new tv is that it shows the TV logo and brings me back to my homescreen instead of just going black.
