I bet you can just wipe the outside of any items with a cleaner and be fine. News reports say that packages are not really a problem, but I put all the boxes and stuff in a burn pile in my yard as soon as I open everything and then wash my hands. The virus doesn't live long on objects.
Edit: if you like indie brands,
Meow cosmetics makes some collections for Halloween that are apocolyptic. They open the Halloween shop for every Friday the 13th too. Maybe they will make them available for the Covid 19 outbreak.
Edit 2: I added the link for the store.
I've been Lysol spraying my mail, lettting it sit out for a bit, and then open stuff a few hours later. I do believe that on paper and cardboard, germs live on it for a handful of hours anyway. Any plastic bag packages I receive, I spray with a lot of Lysol, though. And, like everyone else on the planet has said, I wash my hands after doing pretty much anything that involves something going into my house.
That said, my household is currently low-risk (just me and my husband-- no health issues), and I'm self-quarantined anyway (and I'm self-quarantined because it's the safest thing to do right now, not because I'm sick or have been knowingly exposed to anyone who has tested positive).
In happier, more distracting news, I did another ColourPop order. Got the lipstick and a blush from the Mulan collection, and a backup of the Fourth Ray Beauty hyluronic acid serum. The Mulan eyeshadow palette looks gorgeous, and the swatches I've seen look stunning ... But I don't
need the palette, so I skipped out on it.
I'm getting pretty impatient about ColourPop restocking the Sailor Moon collection on their site, though. I still want those Luna blushes really badly! Ulta stores had the Sailor Moon collection available last weekend, but the timing couldn't have been worse (like hell I was going to go out last weekend just for makeup.
Hell no!). Especially if all sorts of hands are touching the stuff in the store anyway. Ulta released the collection on their website as well (unannounced), and so I completely missed out as everything sold out super quickly. I keep checking both the Ulta site and the ColourPop site for any restocks. No such luck yet.
I bet that even though Sailor Moon was their most requested collection, ColourPop still underestimated the popularity of such a collection coming out. Guarantee they didn't make a large amount like they would for a Disney collection, because they wrote Sailor Moon off as something not as popular. They were so,
so wrong. Haha.
