Okay, may day has offically ended. Before I wash off my makeup, here is what I'm wearing right now:

Face:
-Missha Magic Cushion Cover Lasting foundation.
-NYX HD Studio Photogenic Conealer
-Besame Cosmetics Translucent Brightening Powder in Violet
-TheBalm's "DownBoy" blush
-ColourPop's "Horse & Carriage" highlighter (from the Disney Masquerade Collection)

Eyes:
-Lit Cosmetics Brow Power
-Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer
-L'Oreal's Lash Paradise mascara
-ColourPop's Sailor Moon Eyeshadow palette (using the colors Shining Moon, Silver Crystal, Silver Millennium, Moon Castle, Luna, and Miracle Romance)

Lips:
-ColourPop's Sailor Moon "Daylight" lip bundle

how do you like the viseart petit pro? and do you happen to have any other viseart to compare the petit with?

I love it! Unfortunately the only other Viseart I have for comparison is the Apricotine petit pro, but they are both great. The mattes are buildable and blendable, and the shimmers are just beautiful with a brush or fingers. I like their formula so much that I’m really tempted to get the new Paris edit palette.

It’s a new day! Here’s another FOTD:
Base:
Guerlain L’essentiel foundation
Charlotte Tilbury setting powder
NARS radiant creamy concealer
Hourglass ghost quad mauve blush

eyes:
Chantecaille cool hummingbird quartet in the taupe, deep purple and pink shimmer shades
L’oreal telescopic mascara

Lips:
YSL volupté tint in balm in Plum

I like this eye quad, but I wouldn’t purchase another one from Chantecaille unless their prices get chopped in half or more. I was stupid and jumped on it because of the hummingbird theme, but this quad is not worth $70. The packaging is cute but nowhere near as luxurious as I expected- it’s just a plastic case with a bird picture slapped on. The pans are also teeny tiny. I don’t regret it necessarily because the colors are nice, but it’s worth maybe $30 at best. 6/10. I’ve heard very good things about their setting powder and bronzers, though.

I saw those Chantecaille hummingbird quads and I don't get it, because they don't even seem to be benefiting a charity, unless I'm missing something?! The charity ones are typically full-sized shadows or blushes embossed with whatever animal and they're $80. Shaving off just $8 to go down to tiny plain pans with no profits going to charity makes no sense. I have a few of the charity ones but I'm over it. I have the lion quad, the gorilla quad, the wolf trio, and a few others I don't even remember offhand. They aren't worth it tbh (even when you factor in that you're paying more for charity it's still too much)

I've been using the Chantecaille gel bronzer for two years, it will either run out this year or I'll toss it. I do like it in summer but never would've tried it if they hadn't sent me one by accident.

edit to avoid double post: Colourpop is closed, kind of. They'll still take your money :shit-eating:

Ooooo, you cunts, I should have ordered my custom palette two weeks ago when still in the grips of impulse-shoppitude.

Ladies, about two hours ago, I did something that I never thought I'd do: I gave myself a haircut.

It was long overdue. Had wanted to get it cut back in February, but then I figured I'd wait an extra month because I had a wedding to go to and wanted a fresh new hairdo for it. Well, the world has since ended, and the wedding has been postponed. Last thing I want to do in self-quarantine is to go to a hair salon. My hair was starting to develop split ends, and I just couldn't take it anymore. There was zero chance of me waiting potentially 4 more months until I got my hair done.

So yeah ... I hacked off about 2-3 inches. Surprisingly, I don't think I did a terrible job. It's by no means a perfect hair cut ... But it's certainly far from being a disaster, too. I ain't mad at it. The wedding is at the end of the Summer now; my hair can spend its time in quarantine re-growing so I can get a timely cut later.

Anybody else tempted to do this while we're all stuck in our homes? Haha.

Boooo! But, yeah ... It was bound to happen. They are probably still accepting orders so they can continue to make money during all of this mess. At least there's a notification of this statement on the main site to notify everyone before they order.

Guess I'm not getting the order I did for the Mulan collection for a while. Tempted to cancel, but ... Eh. I still want the stuff.

I also guess that the Sailor Moon collection is going to take an even longer time to restock now, if it will ever be restocked at this point. Ah well.

I am lucky to have gotten my hair cut earlier this month, so I don't have the urge. I have cut my own hair before to save money. It was really long, though, so it was easy to do without making a mess of it. My natural texture hides little mistakes too, lol.

Played around with the Sailor Moon eyeshadow palette for the second time. I'm glad I'm finally getting around to using this thing after having it for about a month!

I felt pretty with the eye look I did earlier tonight; it definitely gave me a mood boost for the rest of the day and evening, as we all have had our anxieties over the past couple of weeks. I did a lighter look that's more "my style" when it comes to eye makeup, which means I did something more along the lines of "Basic Neutral Bitch: The Spring Edition."

Here are the colors I used this time:

-Shining Moon, all over the lid, up to the brow bone. The sparkles on this one actually remain when I apply it; it's a really pretty "one and done" color for lighter complexions. I could apply this, add some winged liner, and I'm good to go!)

-Silver Millennium, on the inner corners and browbone highlight. This is a Supershock Shadow, much to my surprise. The color actually looks wet when I wear it. It's stunning.

-Silver Crystal, on the lid. Gorgeous. Light pink/champagne sparkly eyeshadows are my absolute kryptonite when it comes to eye makeup. This one did not disappoint me in the slightest.

-Moon Castle, as a crease blending color. It's wonderful for that purpose. Guarantee that will be one of the shades I use most in the palette altogether.

-Love, on the outer corner and slightly blended into the crease to add some depth and pop of color to the Silver Crystal eyeshadow. I adore how this turned out with everything.

I think I found my "go-to" look with this palette. I'm definitely replicating this look multiple times in the future. Most of the tutorials of this palette that I've seen on YouTube remind me of Lisa Frank school supplies (which is cute and totally fine if that's your thing, but it's just not for me). The look I did is definitely more toned down, and I love how it turned out. Don't get me wrong, I'll be playing with some brighter colors eventually, but I'm stoked that I got a really pretty "neutral" look with this.

Even if you're not a Sailor Moon fan, I still recommend the palette. The quality is super nice, and I feel it's versatile enough to do a lot of different eye looks. It's just a fun and happy palette!

That's hilarious, because I just lopped off three inches of hair yesterday. Thankfully, curly hair tends to be forgiving and hides a lot.

My eye makeup looks pretty damn good today.

I haven't been wearing any makeup lately as I am sick ( not the coof) and my allergies kicked in overtime making eyeshadow experiments impossible. I really want to play with my Mar palette, but it will have to wait until I look human again.

Since Corona-Chan shut down all the nail salons in my state, my beautiful, prized acrylics finally had to go. They were so grown out that they were going to start breaking any day now. Bit the bullet and removed them last night.

My natural nails are so damaged from twenty years of biting and a year straight of acrylics. They're more ridged than Ruffles and more peely than a sunburnt Swede. Some of my fingertips hurt since the skin behind my nails grew excessively, and there's like half a layer of nail left on parts of my nails so any pressure on them hurts.

After my hair, my nails were my favorite part of my appearance. It feels incredibly shallow to "grieve" my nails but it really, really sucks. I also lost my favorite habit of tippy tappy tapping them against stuff, which I'm sure my coworkers will appreciate.

Fucking bats.

I bought this tshirt because I enjoy blaring out my morbid pastimes to the world:

This shirt speaks out to me. I never knew there was even a word for it.

Anyway, I bought Karity's new eyeliner and a liquid lipstick in the shade Rockstar (since I've been dying for a red lip again thanks to Besame (although I'm not buying Victory Red anytime soon) ) and it'll be here tomorrow.

Oh this is so autistic, but I'm gonna write it. It is probably better to keep nails natural or at least visible (under clear polish) during the pandemic. Not only do you see when they are dirty, but medics may want to look at your nail beds to see if they are oxygenated in the even they are triaging you while you are unconscious. This is something you learn in field training for first aid in wartime, so it may not be as applicable if you faint from corona-chan. But maybe knowing this will help you ladies feel better about not having your decorative nails during the pandemic.

Ladies, if you're like me and hoping all your favorite clothing stores have huge corona-chan sales to make up for lost revenue, J.Crew Factory has a 50% off clearance sale rn and they have super nice $70 sweaters going for 15 bucks.

Also, has anyone here gotten their eyebrows microbladed? Is it worth it?
Eww, J. Crew factory?!

The amount of extra cleaning and prolonged handwashing I'm doing means I've pretty much given up on painting my nails anyway because they end up chipped and scruffy too quickly. And what you wrote wasn't autistic, it's good advice :)

Is anybody in line to pre-order the Selena MAC collection?

So I got the palette, 2 lipsticks and 2 lip glasses. I wanted the highlighter but I know i'd never wear it, looks way too gold and possibly too dark for me.
