For reference, I got the Mar, "Yes Please!", and "Give it to me Straight! " palettes. I have used the last one the most.
I adore Give It To Me Straight. I use the shit out of it and can get tons of looks. One of my all time faves.
Was anyone else disappointed with Colourpop's mauve collection? Mauve is my absolute favorite eyeshadow and lip color, but I wasn't interested in anything they put out in that collection.

I'm sure the quality is great, as are most Colourpop releases. I guess I just wanted more of a dusty rosey-mauve like you see a lot of mauves advertised as than the true grey-lilac mauve.
Yes. Mauve is right up my alley but it wasn't very mauvey at all. It was just a reshuffling of several of their basic nude pallettes. Speaking of nudes, I did not expect that Mulan palette to be so very nudey. It's pretty, but I don't feel like the color story reflects the theme like Sailor Moon did.

The other day I meant to post that Melt was going to be having some sales, but I forgot:

So today when I remembered the sale I wanted to see if everything had already sold out before posting. I just checked the Melt site and RIP, they've been shut down by Los Angeles county. Says they will honor their sale prices when they return. Those deals are breddy gud so if you're into Melt I'd sign up for their emails so you'll know when they're back.

But more importantly, if this was an emergency order by LA county, shouldn't other LA-based brands be shutting down too? Lime Crime? Colourpop? Kylie? The list goes on, but why am I only seeing this on Melt so far? It's making me kind of nervous because I did just buy the new Rust palette. Haven't touched it yet. Probably just paranoid but what if Melt had a coofer on the payroll? :cryblood:

I bet you can just wipe the outside of any items with a cleaner and be fine. News reports say that packages are not really a problem, but I put all the boxes and stuff in a burn pile in my yard as soon as I open everything and then wash my hands. The virus doesn't live long on objects.

Edit: if you like indie brands, Meow cosmetics makes some collections for Halloween that are apocolyptic. They open the Halloween shop for every Friday the 13th too. Maybe they will make them available for the Covid 19 outbreak.
Edit 2: I added the link for the store.

I wouldn't put it past Jeffree.

So am I the only one who is still putting on makeup every day, even though I'm not going anywhere? It calms my nerves. Please tell me I'm not the only one.
Me too! I can go about a day without wearing makeup before I feel like a scrub. So I've been doing my makeup everyday. I think it's mentally healthy, and I get extra time in the morning to do it and try different looks I wouldn't normally wear to work.

Reminds me of the old days (late 90s-early 00s) on the Lipstick Alley forum when we used to post our Face of the Day. It was just a listing of the makeup you wore that day, no pictures. Misty watercolor memories.

I've been Lysol spraying my mail, lettting it sit out for a bit, and then open stuff a few hours later. I do believe that on paper and cardboard, germs live on it for a handful of hours anyway. Any plastic bag packages I receive, I spray with a lot of Lysol, though. And, like everyone else on the planet has said, I wash my hands after doing pretty much anything that involves something going into my house.

That said, my household is currently low-risk (just me and my husband-- no health issues), and I'm self-quarantined anyway (and I'm self-quarantined because it's the safest thing to do right now, not because I'm sick or have been knowingly exposed to anyone who has tested positive).

In happier, more distracting news, I did another ColourPop order. Got the lipstick and a blush from the Mulan collection, and a backup of the Fourth Ray Beauty hyluronic acid serum. The Mulan eyeshadow palette looks gorgeous, and the swatches I've seen look stunning ... But I don't need the palette, so I skipped out on it.

I'm getting pretty impatient about ColourPop restocking the Sailor Moon collection on their site, though. I still want those Luna blushes really badly! Ulta stores had the Sailor Moon collection available last weekend, but the timing couldn't have been worse (like hell I was going to go out last weekend just for makeup. Hell no!). Especially if all sorts of hands are touching the stuff in the store anyway. Ulta released the collection on their website as well (unannounced), and so I completely missed out as everything sold out super quickly. I keep checking both the Ulta site and the ColourPop site for any restocks. No such luck yet.

I bet that even though Sailor Moon was their most requested collection, ColourPop still underestimated the popularity of such a collection coming out. Guarantee they didn't make a large amount like they would for a Disney collection, because they wrote Sailor Moon off as something not as popular. They were so, so wrong. Haha.

Isn't Lysol pretty mild though? I'd opt for bleach. Just a little in a spray bottle and that would be okay.

How do you think I feel? Before all this crap happened, I actually ordered something from CHINA, of all places, that's still in transit. Yeah, it's been over a month now, but could the timing be any worse?

Lysol is pretty mild, however, cardboard doesn't pose as a large risk for contamination. Softer surfaces like paper and cardboard are relatively low risk. Also, I figure that Lysol is pretty safe to use around the house if it's literally just me and my husband, who are both voluntarily self-quarantined with no knowledge of coming into contact with anyone who has the virus. And we'll remain self-quarantined until things are back to normal, however long that takes. Teleworking makes that easier to do, thank goodness.

I got a package from China two weeks ago. You bet your ass I wiped that plastic package down with Chlorox. lol.

This sounds like a great idea to me... I’d love to do something like that here! Especially now that we’re all stuck at home and probably doing more fun/creative makeup in our free time. Plus it’s a good way to get reviews of products from real people and not YouTube robots.
At the risk of :autistic: ratings, I’ll start!

Face:
Sephora bright future skin tint
Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter (highlight)
Becca brightening undereye corrector
Hourglass ghost quad in fuschia

eyes:
Pat McGRATH Mercury pigment all over the lid
Viseart petit pro 3 - shell pink and taupe colors for base and crease
Shiro (RIP) Zora Sapphire loose shadow as liner with Mehron mixing medium
Maybelline lash stiletto mascara

lips:
Pat McGrath luxe trance in Donatella

Everything set with all nighter because I’m mopping the floors today and I need my glam to last. Basically I’ve been into a really light base, glowy lid and bright liner! It’s fun without being ridiculous (I think!)

I put full face on today so I could feel pretty and experiment with new colors. It's good to keep a routine. People tend to neglect hygiene when they start working remote or become unemployed for extended periods. If you are doing hair and makeup regularly, you will likely stay on top of normal hygiene as well.

Edit: my FOTD:
PeriPera Ink skin tint in #3 Sand
Glossier Wowder light/med
NYX brunette eyebrow pencil
Benefit Gimme brow
Eye shadow shades from Tarteist pro palette (the chocolate smelling one):
- Classic and Innocent
Eye shadow from ColourPop Give it to Me Straight:
- Matter of Fact, Up Front, Truth Hurts, TMI, and Actually
Benefit "Their Real!" mascara in black
Dome blush in English Rose
Urban Decay Vice lipstick in Whip

Cannot recall where I put all those eyeshadow shades, but I used them!

Okay, ya got me:

Face:
NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Mont Blanc
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion concealer
Hourglass Veil powder
Maybelline Cheek Heat cream blush in Rose Vibrant
Essence Pure Nude highlighter (less than $5 and incredible)

Eyes:
Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. I used Raw Sienna, Red Ochre, Cyprus Umber and Tempera.
Cover Girl brow gel
M.ilk Makeup Kush mascara (got a deluxe sample from Sephora) Its an amazing mascara and I am tempted to buy the full size)

Lips:
Wet n Wild Megalast high shine lipstick in Clothes Off

I tend to go a bit HAM on my makeup days.

FOTD

Eyeshadow -- ABH Modern Renaissance, shades Tempera, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze and Vermeer.
Lashes - Just For Redheads Mascara Naturelle in Ginger Cocoa
Lips -- Fade Out from Karity
Moisturizer - Ziaja Goat Milk day cream

I am basic as hell.

Also, I am thinking on trying the Sydney Grace cream eyeshadow in the shade Blossom, but if there are some other brands with them, I would love to hear suggestions.

How do you like the skin tint? It’s something I’ve seen and been curious about!

I’ve only tried Sydney grace and maybelline liquid/cream shadows and Sydney Grace is better by far! Their whole line is awesome, but their cream shadows are great. They don’t BUDGE all day, and I have oily eyelids!

I am impressed that someone made mascara for gingers. I think all brands should have a lighter warmer shade than typical dark brown

Right? I was pretty surprised it was a thing since I first used the site to buy their shampoo/conditioner so I wanted to try it. It's pretty good, but I think about getting an waterproof one at some point.

@AveraDiane, Sydney Grace has cream eyeshadows?? I have a few of their singles and I love them. Very affordable as well.

Yeah, someone on a discord channel recommended them and I saw a swatch video for it. I'll probably pick one up when bills are paid.

I like the Peripera skin tint a lot. I also have Glossier's skin tint. While I like both, the Peripera has spf and a little more coverage than Glossier. Neither will be sufficient if you like full coverage, though. Both are buildable to maybe medium coverage, but you may still need concealer on blemishes. Peripera is Korean, so you don't have the best color range with this brand. Glossier recently expanded their shades for the skin tint and concealer, though.
