How was it? Also question is dewanda IDK who the fuck she is cause I'm old and out of touch.... Is her character really am bad as everyone is saying? Did they really go all out with her "lesbianism " or was just a throwaway line like "my girlfriend and I. " that universal can conveniently cut out for release in the united Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and especially China?
It was a throwaway line that could be cut for other counties as not to lose money but would have blue checkmarks circle jerking. She was written to save the day mutiple times in just about every encounter and annoying as hell, simply because she wasn't a character, but an obvious 'we need a stronk black wamman in our movie'. Black jesus man was better, but still a bit annoying as the saviour of everything and the single person who brought everyone to the place to shut down the plans of the evil white man.

One thing I will cut them slack on, and the reason I am not really angry about the World trilogy, is the because of intent of the movies. The Star Wars sequels were made intentionally to spite the franchise and desecrate a popular western mythos, and I genuinely hate the people behind those films like Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams for what they did.

Colin Trevorrow’s decisions on the first Jurassic World film and his rumored actions taken during his involvement in the creation of the Star Wars sequels makes me willing to give him the the benefit of the doubt in that regard. I think he does want to do the best he can with Jurassic Park, and he may even care about it himself, but I believe the problem is that he doesn’t truly understand it.

I mentioned this a while back but what so many people, including lots of so-called Jurassic Park fans, do not understand is that Jurassic Park is not about dinosaurs. It’s about ethics in science and man’s refusal to accept when he has gone too far. In some ways with JW:FK and JW:biggrin: Trevorrow made the same mistake that Jurassic Park III did by assuming that all the viewing audience really wants is to see a big thrill ride with dinosaurs and nothing else (plus nostalgia in this case). To be fair the intelligence of the average moviegoer has surely dropped greatly since 2001, so he may not be totally wrong there, but there is so much more to a good Jurassic Park film than that.
With the first Jurassic World, Trevorrow had a pretty simple idea - what if Jurassic Park had actually been up and running when things went south? - which he turned into a script pretty much by just throwing in the major plot beats from the first movie. And while it was formulaic, it mostly worked. It was when he had to try and do something new for the sequels that he really came unstuck, and clearly had no idea where to take the franchise next.

As for the sequel trilogy, I actually think Abrams (and Trevorrow when he was attached to Ep9) did genuinely want to make some decent Star Wars, but was just too incompetent to do so, while Rian Johnson clearly thought the franchise was beneath him. And so long as She Who Must Not Be Named was producing them, it wouldn't really have mattered who was directing.

I think you're just salty. She saved the day when her piloting skills came in handy, but she also got saved a couple times as well since it's not like she had any particular skills with dino wrangling or anything.

Not every character who's not a white dude is a token.

she saved Chris with the taser thing, and again with a gun later.

Honestly, I saw her line about "I like redheads" as just her having a preference for redheads in general, regardless if she bangs men or women (of which I doubt she's sexually attracted to anyone but her planes). Redheads are just that exotic and stereotypically fiery in nature that you come off as a weirdo for saying you don't like them, sexually or aesthetically.

shitty movies made by people with decent intentions who just don't understand them.
You know the old saying; the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Edit: or in the words of the franchise itself... "some of the worst things imaginable, have been done with "the best intentions. "

Thank you @Owen Grady

That would make for an actually interesting series if the less outright threatening dinosaurs were just a part of life. Could you catch every Compy? Not likely, they're going to probably be a real pain in the ass if not watched in cities and certainly in the wild. Especially if it focused more on the dinosaurs not being extremely kill-crazed like they are in the movies.

I absolutely get that a movie about dinosaurs running the hell away from most things wouldn't be entertaining but most dangerous animals now can be scared off by being loud, sudden motion, or all sorts of human inventions. Dinosaur 'Rangers' or whatever would be a fascinating thing to see.
You could turn it into an edutainment show to teach viewers about what modern paleontology says about Dinosaur behavior, how the ecosystem works and the roles of certain species in the wild. Hell have a bit of fun with the series and show how humans and dinosaurs could interact or even if certain Dinosaurs could be domesticated based on their behavior, maybe discuss if Raptors being social pack hunters could be bred into some that could be domesticated the way human's created dogs from wolves. Have an episode where Owen and Blue need to remove Dinosaurs that are putting pressure on the species living in Yellowstone and are assisted by a rancher who rides a Parasaurolophus the way one would ride a horse or a Thai farmer who uses a Triceratops as a replacement water buffalo to plow his fields. I just watched a tie-in car commercial for the movie where a man adopts a baby Carnotaurus and treats it like a pet walking it on a leash, letting it stick its head out the car window and it was hilarious. You could do episodes where humans foolishly adopt Dinosaurs as pets and deal with the consequences of owning a giant lizard as a pet. At the end you can have a segment where Claire explains the moral or science behind the episode while Owen and Blue do a funny skit in the background. I guess just remember that one of Jurassic Park's claims to fame was being scientifically accurate for the time period.

Humans foolishly buying dinosaurs as pets without knowing what they're getting into is the reason parrots go through, what, 6? homes on average in their lifetimes.

Never forget that a t rex is more closely related to birds than it is to stegosaurus.

Why the FUCK do we get a room full of flaming locusts, but they aren't the ones to eat Dobson.
Yeah, why wasn't it Dodgson who got the most brutal death in the movie? Dude was literally causing a global food crisis. Yeah, he was going to be eaten alive by Dilophosaurus, but the locusts should've also gotten in on that action. Or at least they should've eaten Dr. Wu.

Yeah, the poacher getting his arms almost torn from their sockets and his head bitten off was pretty metal, but is this movie literally saying dinosaur poachers who also aid in kidnapping is more deserving of a brutal death than an actual genocidal greedy corporate maniac?

Honselty after seeing the movie. I could totally belive that character wanting to fuck a plane.

she saved Chris with the taser thing, and again with a gun later.
True but there were many other times the other characters had to save her as well.

I just hate that Dr. Wu have all people got redeem. Fuck that he should have been eaten by a dinosaur.

Like no Missy your mother probably wouldn't want him to live if she knew the shitty things be did. You suck like the last one congrats

Wu got redeemed because he's a scientist, all he did was in name of science so it's not his fault, he did nothing wrong, he couldn't have known because the science was settled when he did it.
Like sure yeah why not redeem the guy who was soing to be a asshole through out the movies and also responsible for tons of death.

Haven't watched JP3 since I was like 12 so I now feel old seeing the teen there look so young
Same, I was 12 when JP3 came out. It was the first JP movie I got to see in theaters, since my parents wouldn't let me watch JP until I was like 8/9. Pretty much anything JP3 related is a nuclear nostalgia bomb.

Tbh I think my favorite part of JP is the toy shit. Any other JP toys autists? I've been collecting them since I was 9.

I saw the third movie in theatres when I was 6 as my first JP experience in theatres. I would watch it again when I rented it at my local Blockbuster. I loved JP3 back when I was a kid. I rewatched it a couple years back and I still liked it, though not as much as when I was a kid. Granted, neither this nor Lost World will ever be as good as the first (which is obvious from the word go), but then again, they were never meant to be that way. They were just pieces of fun, harmless, yet brainless popcorn entertainment.

Also, holy BASED the merchandising behind it was so kino. I remember me, my bro and my friends used to play with JP3 toys during the late summer of that year. It was fun.

The book and movie are two complete different experiences and I love it. The book basically turns dinosaurs into poorly-made freaks of nature that will fuck you up while the movie captures the child's whimsy of it all. I can enjoy them as two separate entities with different visions and themes.

I do wish that a JP film would feature some legitimate dinosaur horror like in the book though. A flat-out Crichton-esque film where the dinosaurs are horrifying beyond words would be neat and a much fresher approach to the series instead of these poorly-made CG wankfests they've become, complete with Marvel quips and forgettable characters.
The book was a bit grim at the end - I can see why the film had to "lighten it up a little" but I agree that the book certainly gave a more realistic outlook as to the consequence and was not at all a fairy tale.

I think they should reboot the entire series and go back to a part 2 of the original that has something decent in it - pretty hard act to follow up on though.
