Decided to try watching this, somehow this makes me feel like more of a manchild than watching some actual children's shows does. It feels extremely infantile which combined with the sexualization of the female characters just makes for a very uncomfortable watch.
Also the voice acting fucking sucks, it basically encompasses everything I despise about western voice acting. Everyone's performance is 1 note for the entire fucking runtime, any kind of emotion is always displayed in a subdued fashion because these niggers probably thought that doing any kind of theatrical display of emotion would be "unrealistic".
Some bastard on the SMG4 team thought it was a good idea to have Leggy be story relevant, and so, she started to develop a relationship with Mr. Puzzles, a villain who previously tortured Meggy so badly she gained PTSD.
Which is a very ironic sentient since at least to me the most memorable acting is the most over the top kind. Personally I'd rather an actor put their entire pussy into the act than not trying at all, that's the worst shit. I'd take a scenery chewer over a low energy faggot any day.
Big example, like how M. Bison was the best part of the shitty old Street Fighter movie, why? Because despite how ass the movie was the actor put everything into the performance.

If you don't get it, basically, no matter how dogshit the script, it might be "Okay" if you try your best anyway. If nothing else, your performance will be the one people remember at the very least.

It's because that's what acting is supposed to do. For basically all of history, the main goal of actors was to dramatize and express their emotions in a loud and clear manner. This also means exaggerating emotion beyond what realistically would make sense in such a scenario because the actor's role is to heighten the drama. Somewhere along the way with film acting, more actors were taught in the style of realism rather than the classical style and eventually that style just disappeared off the map entirely. I think you can actually most see this generational conflict in the soy wars prequels, where the legacy actors like Ian McDiarmid and Christopher Lee were fine while the younger actors just couldn't work with George's directions and dialogue and had terrible delivery, this is because what George asked them to do was simply something that they weren't trained for anymore and it really shows in how they treat George's dialogue in those movies.
What this leads to is that now actors who are trained in the realistic style are now voicing over stories that are meant to be whimsical and it just does not work. You can tell some of the actors in gamoverse are try to mimic better voice actors, but they just don't know how to actually make it work because to make it work they have to completely disregard what they have been taught. Or they just straight up are not actors and just minecraft youtubers talking in their normal voice (Why the fuck did they get a meme youtuber like jschlatt to voice one of the main characters I just don't fucking get it, these same people will complain about celebrity castings in hollywood films)
It's also why I find it annoying when people complain about Japanese acting being "over the top" like no nigga that's just normal dramatic acting
I'm all for hijacking and shitting on GameOverse but this seemed to take the Dobson approach instead of doing something clever. The trailer also doesn't do anything to sell itself other than saying that GameOverse is shit

The trailer also doesn't do anything to sell itself other than saying that GameOverse is shit

This guy doesn't even have the courtesy to make his own pilot before selling merch, I know animation is expensive and time-consuming, but that's the bare minimum even most indie creators should be able to make within a few months of active production.

This is why I don't really like any of the Glitch shows, they're all DISTINCTLY childish in ways that make me feel elderly when I see grown-ass adults hyping up cartoons that look meant for pre-teens at the absolute oldest, but they'll occasionally toss in characters swearing, dying, or fanservice to make it look like it isn't Disney XD slop, I SWEAR the entirety of Gameoverse' momentum right now is being carried by people beating their dicks to the catgirl protag because they kept tossing in easy fanservice like her being in a bikini in the pilot when usually you gotta work your way up to the beach episode. (Admittedly she has the best design for a glitch main protagonist so far, which isn't hard when your competition is weird looking clown, a loli goth robot that would be a dated archetype even in 2012, and the engineer girl that looked so mannish everyone got mad when she wasn't revealed to be a troon)

I don't like the pilot either, but this is just a cheap family guy bit of them killing the le epic barney the dinosaur knockoff to show how cool and edgy they are while being extremely uncool and hardly edgy, and now it's gonna cause idiots to defend the actual show more militantly by comparing any criticism to this video.

Modern animation creators are manchildren who, instead of taking inspiration from real life, are obsessed with 2000s cartoon network shows and just want to make that.
They're incredibly embarrassed by it, so they try and make it "adult" by adding mild fan service, mild violence, swears and characters having panic attacks, but in reality GameOverse is spiritually a 2000s Cartoon Network show with a light TV-14.

Tbf is it even punching down. They haven't even released yet and they're shitting on one of the biggest animation things on the internet right now, that's big talk and if you're leading with just another animated sitcom you better have some good writing.
Sometimes you gotta earn the big talk, I don't even like Glitch but this Chimptopia thing looks like white toast.
