Its suspected that the Night King is a powerful warg himself. Warging into another human being is difficult. Warging into another warg may be impossible.
I think the better explanation is that Bran Dr. Stranged the whole thing and chose to follow the timeline that required the least amount of effort on his part.
It would have been cool if Night King et al. were all just puppet wargs populated by the Three-Eyed Raven. Then once he took over Bran, he could have conquered Westeros entire under the guise of defeating the great evils. Convoluted plan, but I think preferable to what we've gotten. It ends with Bran emitting an uncharacteristic Vincent Price laugh a la Thriller.
Other leaks have been spot-on, even though they sounded ridiculous. I think odds are that the finale leaks will be accurate.I'm still skeptical of those finale leaks, and I think D&D may have purposely leaked fake spoilers to hide the real ending, if only because the King Bran plot would be the worst most anticlimatic ending in television history, and my mind is still having trouble believing that we will watch such a trainwreck occur in real time. So in anticipation of GOT's horrific death tonight, here goes my extremely optimistic finale predictions:
- Dany will arrive back in Winterfell with the endlessly respawning Dothraki and Unsullied, only to be confronted by Sansa, who (along with Varys' last letters) will have informed everyone in the North of Jon's true heritage, and have gathered an army of Northmen and Tormund and his Wildlings
-Jon will be forced to either side with Sansa or Dany, and will obviously choose Sansa
-A final battle between Dany's forces and the North will unfold. Jon will battle Grey Worm, and Arya will assassinate Daenerys. Jon will use his Targ blood to control Dany's dragon and prevent it from slaughtering the North
-Tyrion (who will be imprisoned by Daenerys for execution for freeing Jaime) will be elected the new King of Westeros after Jon abandons the throne, (fitting as Tyrion is D&D's Mary Sue), Sansa will be Queen of the North and support Tyrion, Davos, Sam, and Bran will be Tyrion's advisers, and Jon will go North to become the new King Beyond The Wall.
That's pretty much the best outcome I see for tonight. If I'm wrong, oh well, at least I can come up with a better climax than the writers. If I'm anywhere close to right, I am considering it absolute proof of my Tetramonadist Titanhood.
They hold democratic elections. Tyrion wins. Daenerys was thought to be a sure thing, even though she's obviously demented and would be the worst choice for ruler. His brilliant tactic of deploying Make George Write Again merchandise seals his victory. Danery slinks off to the shadows to conspire with the Greyack o'Worma on how to crush Tyrion's reign. Something-something Danery claims Tyroshin interests control the throne something-something I lose interest in this paragraph etc.-Tyrion (who will be imprisoned by Daenerys for execution for freeing Jaime) will be elected the new King of Westeros
Sorting the live-watching thread by new on r/freefolk or r/asoiaf should net you the freshest salt around. /tv/ threads on 4chan usually posts up regular screencaps during broadcast, too. I've skipped the last two episodes and will never watch the finale either, but I will tune in for the hubbub.I hope that you can throw a bone and post regular spoilers tonigh
