Its suspected that the Night King is a powerful warg himself. Warging into another human being is difficult. Warging into another warg may be impossible.

I think the better explanation is that Bran Dr. Stranged the whole thing and chose to follow the timeline that required the least amount of effort on his part.

It would have been cool if Night King et al. were all just puppet wargs populated by the Three-Eyed Raven. Then once he took over Bran, he could have conquered Westeros entire under the guise of defeating the great evils. Convoluted plan, but I think preferable to what we've gotten. It ends with Bran emitting an uncharacteristic Vincent Price laugh a la Thriller.

I'm still skeptical of those finale leaks, and I think D&D may have purposely leaked fake spoilers to hide the real ending, if only because the King Bran plot would be the worst most anticlimatic ending in television history, and my mind is still having trouble believing that we will watch such a trainwreck occur in real time. So in anticipation of GOT's horrific death tonight, here goes my extremely optimistic finale predictions:
- Dany will arrive back in Winterfell with the endlessly respawning Dothraki and Unsullied, only to be confronted by Sansa, who (along with Varys' last letters) will have informed everyone in the North of Jon's true heritage, and have gathered an army of Northmen and Tormund and his Wildlings
-Jon will be forced to either side with Sansa or Dany, and will obviously choose Sansa
-A final battle between Dany's forces and the North will unfold. Jon will battle Grey Worm, and Arya will assassinate Daenerys. Jon will use his Targ blood to control Dany's dragon and prevent it from slaughtering the North
-Tyrion (who will be imprisoned by Daenerys for execution for freeing Jaime) will be elected the new King of Westeros after Jon abandons the throne, (fitting as Tyrion is D&D's Mary Sue), Sansa will be Queen of the North and support Tyrion, Davos, Sam, and Bran will be Tyrion's advisers, and Jon will go North to become the new King Beyond The Wall.

That's pretty much the best outcome I see for tonight. If I'm wrong, oh well, at least I can come up with a better climax than the writers. If I'm anywhere close to right, I am considering it absolute proof of my Tetramonadist Titanhood.
Other leaks have been spot-on, even though they sounded ridiculous. I think odds are that the finale leaks will be accurate.

-Tyrion (who will be imprisoned by Daenerys for execution for freeing Jaime) will be elected the new King of Westeros
They hold democratic elections. Tyrion wins. Daenerys was thought to be a sure thing, even though she's obviously demented and would be the worst choice for ruler. His brilliant tactic of deploying Make George Write Again merchandise seals his victory. Danery slinks off to the shadows to conspire with the Greyack o'Worma on how to crush Tyrion's reign. Something-something Danery claims Tyroshin interests control the throne something-something I lose interest in this paragraph etc.

I hope that you can throw a bone and post regular spoilers tonigh
Sorting the live-watching thread by new on r/freefolk or r/asoiaf should net you the freshest salt around. /tv/ threads on 4chan usually posts up regular screencaps during broadcast, too. I've skipped the last two episodes and will never watch the finale either, but I will tune in for the hubbub.

I believe the leaks only in that I truly and honestly believe that GRRM trolled HBO. This isn't the real ending, we'll never get the real ending, and at best we can hope for some autistic piecing together of the lore into a somewhat confiding hypothesis. GRRM gave them the worst ending he could come up with to destroy the franchise. Almost to the point that I could see them suing him for damages to the franchise. That's a fantasy, I know, but he's poisoned a multi million dollar franchise.

Oh well, let's watch it all burn tonight and then go to sleep trying to pile the ashes of this story into our own headcanons Tyrion is a Targaryen(Mad King raped Tywin's wife, that's why he tried to have him killed by sieging Duskendale and sided with Robert in the rebellion, or at least didn't effectivity resist until victory was assured), Little Finger survives and remains a Lord cause he's just that cunning of a bastard and this is a world where a villain can win with the heroes, Jon is the Prince That Was Promised and the Night King has to be taken down by Lightbringer not just a fancy metal pigsticker, the Horn is used to break the wall, Dany Jon and Tyrian are the three heads of the dragon and each mount up to fight the army of the dead, Arya slowly kills her regrets and ambitions in Westeros so by the end of the story she is truly No One and fully becomes a Faceless

MauLer did another breakdown of an episode, this time episode 4.

My favorite part is how he keeps returning to the fact that Jon just gave Ghost away and didn't even say goodbye to him. Justice for pupper.

I know this is a really popular theory but the way the timeline works out it'd be more likely for Jaime and Cersei to be Aerys' kids than Tyrion. Though I don't think any of them are.

I think if Aerys cucked Tywin it would have been mentioned more explicitly. He just acted 'untoward' iirc, which sounds more like he called her a bitch or something.

I think he flirted with her and got a little handsy just to fuck with Tywin and try to goad him into saying something

Tyrian in the first book talks about dreaming of dragons. The scene with him and the dragons beneath Mareen is what confirmed the theory to me.

That's also a possibility, yeah. It would definitely be worth it, in Aerys' eyes, to try and flap a serious guy like Tywin.

The whole Tyrion Targaryen theory is bad from a writing perspective, because the drama of Tyrion and Tywin's relationship is Tywin knows Tyrion is his son and acknowledges him, and that Tyrion is the closest to Tywin's pragmatic way of thinking. Taking that out of the equation means he was just another noble bastard.

The Mad King explicitly states that he wished he still had the right of prima noctis at Tywin's wedding. I think it's one of those things foreshadowing like Ned having a bastard not making sense, that made L+R=J make complete sense when I first heard the theory.

Edit to not double Post:

I think it's more that he grew to accept him as his son cause he genuinely loved his wife and it was the last piece of her he had, plus hiding the shame of getting chucked

The whole thing about Aerys fucking Johanna is possible, though highly unlikely.

However, the delicious thing about it is that the timing doesn't match up for Tyrion's birth, at all.

It COULD for Tywin's golden twins though.

I dunno dude. I get it, it makes a certain kind of sense, it just comes off as closer to D&D than GRRM (at his best).

This makes slightly more sense but still robs the Lannister story to a huge degree. I already wasn't a fan of R+L=J, even if that was all but confirmed before the show did it.

I've been telling people. Do not do this to yourself. Every leak for every episode has been 100% accurate. D&D hate this show, Martin made up a bullshit ending because he doesn't do outlines and he hates D&D. Every single episode has been a festering shit-pile since episode 3, beyond bad television. It is the worst writing I've ever seen on a high-budget television series, movie, game, bar fucking none. I thought ME 3's ending was the worst butchery ever done to a property, but I was wrong. Dead fucking wrong. We're looking at an extinction level event here. If you truly love Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, write up your own fan-fiction, because that's the only way this will ever end properly.

Dude, anyone could come up with a better climax than these writers. What the fuck is it with 'subverting expectations' and fucking everything up massively? You're not smart about it. King Bran is going to happen. We will be watching the destruction of an entire franchise in real time and nobody thought to stop it. The left and the right are actually united for once, and its that Game of Thrones was raped to death.

My prediction: The spoilers will happen, but the execution will be so much worse. Much, much worse. The spoilers to episode 5 happened, but in execution they were even more terrible. The execution of these spoilers will have the ending will become so cosmically bad, so utterly terrible, it will be a reality breaking moment. It is a Lovecraftain moment that will break the minds of everyone watching it. It will be so horrible, so utterly awful, so anger inducing, it will heal the political divide in this country. The end of the war between progtards and the alt-right will come because of the ending of Game of Thrones. Its sacrifice will be remembered.

Yeah, if any of them HAVE to be Targaryens I've always preferred the theory that Cersei and Jaime are, because there's a nice kind of justice to the kid that Tywin abused and was the most ashamed of being his only true born son.

He groped the shit out of her during the bedding, and made constant comments about her tits at court, according to accessory materials.

EDIT: If he did fuck her it was when she was a handmaid to his wife, before she married Tywin. Which would again mean that the only kids that could be his would be Jaime and Cersei. But I still doubt it. For as much as he hated him, Aerys was also afraid of Tywin. I don't think he had the balls.

Ironic, six years ago I created this very thread here in the runup to the Red Wedding as an expression of "oh fuck I know whats coming next and its gonna hurt..." feeling

Now as we head towards this final moment, the feeling is once again "oh fuck I know whats coming next and its gonna hurt...." but in an infinitely worse meta way, thus bringing the kiwifarms GOT watchers full circle

I just realized that Game of Thrones is ending on the twentieth anniversary of the release of The Phantom Menace. The circle of geekdom dissapointment is now complete.
