Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Haven't they been really good about cleaning up the RMT stuff though?

I don't nearly see as much of it in PF as I see of ads for RP venues. Maybe like...3 maybe? Sometimes none if they just finish doing a sweep. Especially because folks are good about reporting them for rmt activities.
Short answer, yes.

Slightly more detailed answer that you're probably already aware of if you've played the game since Heavensward, you know that neat little feature where there's a report function specifically for RMT just by right-clicking someone's name in chat?

That's one such countermeasure that was instituted to help curb RMT. In addition to all the restrictions that were imposed on trial player accounts. In fact, and I don't know if this still happens, but there was a monthly news update on the Lodestone where the devs would report how many accounts were banned for RMT for a while there as well.

RMT is one of the that things that gets cracked down the hardest in FFXIV. Which makes it all the more hilarious that the RPers are trying to cry that they're giving RMT a free pass just because they see the odd content seller in their PFs, or it's just confirmation bias on their part when they see one up while their RP advertising PFs are starting to cracked down on as well.

Basically, to hopefully no one's surprise, RPers are crybabies who think every little slap on the wrist is just the harshest discrimination against themselves as roleplayers.

Lastly, if you pay a monthly subscription to this game to spend most of it roleplaying sex with strangers online, then that's seriously sad and you need some intensive mental health help. There's a healthy way to roleplay and there's a really unhealthy way to roleplay. This falls in the latter category.
I should also note that there's people who pay a monthly subscription to FFXIV just to use it as a chat program with a really fancy UI and overlay. Kind of like Second Life or VRChat.

They still do. Literally on 02/18/2021 they posted another report about it.

They regularly crack down on this so I'm also confused as to why they (The RP community) are crying about it. The shoe's on the other foot now. Why should they get a free pass to clog up PF with their wierdo, degenerate shit when other people just want to play the game and do content?
RMT can be reported and taken care of. You might see it here and there, but it doesn't last long.
But it's okay for them to to obnoxiously take up so much space in PF to advertise their brothels instead of them using other methods to do it.

"There's no other way for us to advertise. We can't use shout chat because then we'd get in trouble for spamming, waaah."

Uhm, I'm pretty sure most communities have a discord, they have a website, they could use a forum or simply use word of mouth. They need to stop acting like PF is the be all and end all and only option for them to spread their disease. I swear, the RP community is just as fucking shit as the hardcore players with their whiny fucking bullshit and perpetual obsession and need to act like victims.

Say what you want about Goldshire on Moon Guard, they generally don't victimize themselves and they're pretty open about how they're sleazy cunts. I still think they're gross though.

TLDR: Say what you want about Goldshire on Moon Guard... you can say what you want about Goldshire on Moon Guard.

Honestly, if 5000 players are being banned per week, the highest number of upvotes I'm seeing for coomers is like 1.2k. What's more likely - Mods actually targeting RPers over RMT, or RMT being persistent cockroaches and rpers being overdramatic?

I feel absolutely no sympathy. I remember in the past coming across multiple reddit threads where someone complained about the rule changes that were implemented to let GMs have more free reign on ban hammering, and everyone dogpiled to shit on said person that was speaking out against it. Went along the lines of "DUR HUR IF YOU GOT BANNED IT WAS SOMETHING YOU DID TO DESERVE IT I BET!" Been a while since I looked at this shit, but if you do a search I'm sure some of them will come up.

Now look, this guy is crying about it being used against him and it's rocking an 84% upvote. How's your shitty hugbox working for you now, faggots?

SE Support Letter
Dear Square Enix Support,

As you know, over a million players have played and have continued to play Final Fantasy XIV. From all walks of life, every Warrior of Light that logs in does so for a different reason. Some may be for glory in raiding, some to play with their friends across the world, others to make their outfits of their dreams. However, many also join to live out a fantasy life in the form of "Roleplaying" that frankly cannot be replicated anywhere else.

The reason I am writing this letter is to bring to attention a "GM Wyndallus" within the Primal Data Center that is currently banning players for advertising their "RP Venues" within the Party Finder system. These venues are absolutely vital to the health and well-being of the roleplaying community, as it gives them a place to gather and share in the beauty that is the FFXIV lore and lifestyle in the most intimate way possible. However, as there is no other way to make wide reaching contact to people across the data center currently available to the players within the FFXIV system, advertising on the Party Finder has been a commonplace way to advertise and is greatly appreciated by all within the very large and active roleplaying community. With said bans occuring from the GM, the roleplaying community is having their established form of communicating quickly dissolved, creating immense confusion and panic.

Concurrently, there are still, at this moment, advertisements of RMT by bots on the Party Finder that have not been taken down. With this juxtaposed stance on what belongs on the party finder and what doesn't, a lot of players are starting to worry of an unfair and stifiling stance on the roleplaying community.

I have attached various documents of said bans and some sentiment into what the FFXIV Roleplaying Community is currently feeling. I strongly request that this matter be looked into and either clarify rules regarding what does and does not belong on the Party Finder, or help the community in this issue by providing some leniency in the matter until an alternate way to advertise role-playing communities across servers is established.

I greatly appreciate your time and effort looking into this and hope to hear from you soon.

Very Respectfully,

(Name)

"Raiding stresses me out personally, that's why I opt for the RP - I lose myself, reality is painful for some and they use it as an escape. If I didn't have my group of friends, I would be lonely - I'm already suffering from anxiety and depression before any of it."

Get a life and move out of your parents home.

I personally don't care that they RP for whatever reason. If they keep it private within their own sphere, great, even better.

I just don't want it constantly shoved in my face when I'm trying to look for a party to actually play the game.

If they gave PF an entirely new tab specifically for RP purposes, most of these problems would be solved. They get to advertise and I don't have to wade through page after page after page of their weirdo cringe rp ads.

I don't either to a limited extent. But the people who do this to live a second life like this person described carry a really annoying attitude with them that just makes me kind of angry. They're always disproportionately hardline left leaning and their politics are helmet wearing retarded, they're very aggressive to people on the outside of their cliques and they'll be the first to report you if you so much as look at them funny, they act like total degenerates and do fetish stuff and think their behavior is perfectly normal, they sometimes engage in "romance" rp and... it's fucking romance rp, they make shithouse insane vent posts in vent chat where they shit on people who happen to be more successful or more well off because they themselves can't pull their head out of their ass to fix their situation, it's just irritating to put up with.

I don't hate RPers on principal and I don't really hate RPers at all, just FFXIV ones because they have this attitude I described and they just make shit toxic for everyone around them and they just act like general nuisances.

so you dislike rpfags then? i don't know why you went the roundabout of saying you hate rper's at all.

you can count on your hands the people that roleplay for fun of it and not for the faggotry of it, sadly you can pretty much say your standard rper is a rpfag and that applies to other games, including stuff like fiveM/RAGEMP/SAMP.

Why are you saying 'you'? Did you mean to talk in first person in that last paragraph? It depends on the game for me. The ones in ESO are pretty low key and fine and WoW are also pretty, for the most part there are some pretty annoying people, chill too. The ones on FFXIV are turbo nerds who act like this game is another life while ESO and WoW are just people who make stuff similar to DnD.

From personal experience of having dipped my toes into the scene at one point in time, I can say that I have not met a single XIV roleplayer who was genuinely doing it fun of it (which, from my perspective, would be something like bootleg D&D and actually having something like a free-form, evolving adventure), and, instead, was a bunch of really weird, powertripping spergs who either wanted other people to engage in their domination/subjugation/victimization fetish, jerk themselves off over how evil/manipulative their characters were and expected to autowin every scenario they created, or just really blatant ERP bait. The occasional, social gathering was interesting and sometimes entertaining, but the experiences were also punctuated by most people wanting to railroad their grimderp stories over everyone else, and others being too spineless to step up and speak when they're uncomfortable with something happening.

i literally just told you that...

there are few players who propely roleplay, a good chunk often go for the adventurey type of roleplaying but your chances of finding a erp/closeted erp's is 1/5 whenever RP is allowed, even conan exiles suffer this fate and that game has nudity...

ERP baiting i like to call them closeted erp's, you need to play about 30mins or less with them until they start their "affectionate" roleplaying with you. god they are predictable.
