Short answer, yes.Haven't they been really good about cleaning up the RMT stuff though?
I don't nearly see as much of it in PF as I see of ads for RP venues. Maybe like...3 maybe? Sometimes none if they just finish doing a sweep. Especially because folks are good about reporting them for rmt activities.
Slightly more detailed answer that you're probably already aware of if you've played the game since Heavensward, you know that neat little feature where there's a report function specifically for RMT just by right-clicking someone's name in chat?
That's one such countermeasure that was instituted to help curb RMT. In addition to all the restrictions that were imposed on trial player accounts. In fact, and I don't know if this still happens, but there was a monthly news update on the Lodestone where the devs would report how many accounts were banned for RMT for a while there as well.
RMT is one of the that things that gets cracked down the hardest in FFXIV. Which makes it all the more hilarious that the RPers are trying to cry that they're giving RMT a free pass just because they see the odd content seller in their PFs, or it's just confirmation bias on their part when they see one up while their RP advertising PFs are starting to cracked down on as well.
Basically, to hopefully no one's surprise, RPers are crybabies who think every little slap on the wrist is just the harshest discrimination against themselves as roleplayers.
I should also note that there's people who pay a monthly subscription to FFXIV just to use it as a chat program with a really fancy UI and overlay. Kind of like Second Life or VRChat.Lastly, if you pay a monthly subscription to this game to spend most of it roleplaying sex with strangers online, then that's seriously sad and you need some intensive mental health help. There's a healthy way to roleplay and there's a really unhealthy way to roleplay. This falls in the latter category.
