Don't forget to constantly spout "hot takes" about FFXIV and its community and meta as a part of your commentary while you stream as well.
Yeah, I can't forget that.

Damn filthy casuals ruining my game that wasn't made specifically for me. I'm going to bitch about systems to pretend I care when in actuality I will continue to not care and play the game regardless.

FFXIV's community is full of sexual degenerates. Its the worst since Second Life. I think there's probably less sex offenders in actual porn games than in FFXIV.
I started playing Shadowlands to PvP with some lads, and the leveling has made me miss FF14's story, much as I bitched about it.
However, the players are totally silent in dungeons. And as I was on crystal, this has been an unbelievable improvement
Maybe I should set up a stream for FFXIV and then proceed to afk in Eulmore while I watch youtube reaction vids of youtube reaction vids.
Are you balding? That's the secret sauce to streaming success.

Thank the Twelve that you haven't encountered the dreaded "Meowdy" yet.

Just another reason why most miqos need to be quarantined in their own section far, far away from everyone else.

I will probably eventually restart a sub just to catch-up on the ShB content before the new expansion drops when I next get the PVE-MMO crave, so I can look forward to meeting them in the future.

This community is incapable of cleansing itself. For example, the YouTube channel FluffStuff is run by the same guy who was featured in this story: https://archive.md/P68pk . The people who would be ousted and removed from any other community get to stay in positions of influence.

The same goes for the community figures and big discord servers like The Balance discord. There are just no checks and balances. When Method in World of Warcraft was panned for grooming, pedophilia, you know, all the fun stuff, a massive amount of people broke their relations including their sponsors. Method just didn't get to bully their way out of it or just change their discord name and act like nothing happened.

I'd guess it's because the community is painfully insular and no one in their right mind would ever bother wasting time, effort, and resources to give "professional" credence to any sort of community-driven project whatsoever in FFXIV. Thus, the community gets to get away with protecting their privileged few lolcows instead of subjecting the entire lot to summary mockery and disavowal. The problem is only compounded by how strictly enforced the social conduct aspect of XIV is by its GMs, a seemingly significant number of them are directly connected to the sex pests and scum of the community, who will collude to jail people just because they hurt so-and-so's feelings by saying one wrong thing or telling them to fuck off when they demand that you kiss their ass.

These people aren’t mad because there’s no new hardcore content going forward, they’re mad because now they can’t line their pockets up with twitch money as soon as they were hoping. They don’t care about the game, they just want money.
I'm a pretty big FFXIV fanboy but there's really no big community on Twitch for it and certainly not for ultimate raiding. There's virtually no "big twitch bucks" to be made playing FFXIV. It terms of stream content, FFXIV doesn't even have 5% of WoW's viewership Ironically, the "largest" FFXIV streamer (and the only one to get 1k+ views) is Jesse Cox, a variety youtuber and long time WoW player. FFXIV's biggest streamer is still a WoW player, and not an ultimate raider. Second largest would be itsmeJP, Jesse Cox's friend (also from WoW). You'd have to get to ZelpaHQ as the "biggest" FFXIV streamer, but even she is a WoW transplant and got a huge boost from the WoW community courtesy of some of her YT videos being watched by Asmongold (the 50,000+ viewer WoW streamer).

Even during ultimate raiding - FFXIV's viewership "skyrockets" to like 20,000 viewers, which is not a lot. Their hugest all time spike was 31k (literal launch of the expansion) - compared to WoW's launches of 730,000 (Shadowlands) or 1,000,000 + (Classic Launch). FFXIV's "serious raiders" don't stream during the race to world first - as everyone is going in blind (as opposed to WoW's raiders going in with PTR testing/training/pre-loaded DBM).

Point being - FFXIV's twitch community is basically non-existent. If hardcore raiders are worried about money, they'd probably be playing a different game. They're just autistic about being known as "hardcore" players, even though none of them are really "hardcore" (none of them are World First raiders, AFAIK).

So, basically, every "hardcore" raider is stuck up their own ass and have an objectively unwarranted and unearned sense of self-importance.

Not surprising, considering it's how most people who become XIV "celebrities" tend to act.

FTFY homie.

still, i want to start playing the free trial of the game because it seems attractive and not full of shit like Black Desert or WoW, mostly focusing on healer dudes, is there stuff like skill combo i can use that my job has? and there's the whole solo content? i definitely don't want to find a wild roaming troon in the game to be stalked until they try to ban me (will play recording my sessions with OBS just in case)

Skill combo? I'm fairly sure healers don't have combos per se. The most you get is an eclectic array of abilities for you to use on cooldown or as situation warrants.

Also bear in mind that FFXIV currently has the stat and level bloat syndrome, and your class/job won't feel complete until level 70, minimum.

Healers are currently stuck with "Use X for single-target, use Y for 3+ targets" and a DoT to maintain. Most of the action for healers is from healing, which also means early levels for healers are boring as fuck.

Are people really having a hard time understanding that seeing a ton of shit in PF under 18+ brothels and red light district shit can make some people uncomfortable? Especially in Crystal DC where 90% of the All tab is just rp and content selling ads. It would be one thing if there was a lot of actual people running content but the first part is all rmt shit, maybe 3-4 actual content parties (on a good day/night) and then underneath is literally nothing but rp shananigans.

Either quarantine it, get rid of it or give me unlimited black list spaces so I can clean it up myself.

TBWH I don’t really care if people use the “other” tab to advertise venues. However nsfw ads for stuff like ERP I think needs to be regulated because you can’t identify who’s over 18 or who’s not.

Sometimes they're cringe enough to be funny. There was one about a "milky lizzer" wanting to rub bellies. It ends with "has a large one"

The way the RP player typed their responses makes me want to slap them
RPfags tend to use the most flowery prose-like language when trying to communicate because they think it makes them sound smarter. Probably something about speaking with authority they don't actually have as well. And a lot of idiots tend to fall for it as well because they want to suck up to them so they, too, can get in on that ARREE PEE action. Thus, when you have a bunch of idiots constantly kissing your ass and fluffing your ego, you tend to start thinking you can talk to anybody like this to get what you want.

So, basically, RPfags tend to be ego-tripping faggots.

The "whataboutism" they're throwing fits about when it comes to RMT/content sellers in the PF is pretty funny, though. Like they're being selectively persecuted and discriminated against just for being gay ass RPers and that RMT has never, ever been punished before in the game's lifespan just because they're about a dime a dozen as the average RP fag as well.

Haven't they been really good about cleaning up the RMT stuff though?

I don't nearly see as much of it in PF as I see of ads for RP venues. Maybe like...3 maybe? Sometimes none if they just finish doing a sweep. Especially because folks are good about reporting them for rmt activities.

So imho, RMT stuff isn't nearly as obnoxious as opening PF and seeing 5 million "18+ Honey Bee Hotel, come say hello to the girls and boys" ads.

First, there's absolutely no way to verify if people attending these things are 18+, what are they gonna do, ask for ID? Second, most of the players RPing as girls are either troons or guys.

Lastly, if you pay a monthly subscription to this game to spend most of it roleplaying sex with strangers online, then that's seriously sad and you need some intensive mental health help. There's a healthy way to roleplay and there's a really unhealthy way to roleplay. This falls in the latter category.
