I think it's much much much more than that. If the movie under delivers spectacularly as it continues to do so, the product placement deals that they got will get smaller and smaller, and some may even pull out of future projects. It cost like 300m with marketing, so it needs at least 450+ with the product placement monies they've got.

This could be incredibly disastrous for the DCU and WB and with the new Maga boss looming over, it may even get worse.
The way I see it and mentioned before, I see it two ways. See if you all can predict which likely outcome will happens

1. Ellison and Paramount will fold multiple WB divisions and units to cut costs and reduce debt and Gunn has put himself on the chopping block now and Ellison has no patience for Gunn and will give him the boot

2. Gunn will realize his new bosses are buddies with Trump, which whom he hates, and will depart when the merger closes or before gets a pink slip.

I’m leaning towards the first one because Ellison will have no place for Gunn and with the massive amount of debt he will inherit from this acquisition, he will do whatever he can to lower the debt and cut costs and Gunn will be seen as two expendable.

And this won’t be like another shitshow like when Disney initially fired him for his creepy tweets and neckbeards like Moviebob whined so hard they reversed it. Gunn has failed to prove he isn’t expendable. Superman 2025 made $70 million less than Man of Steel and now Supergirl is about to become a super flop, maybe more so than Morbius, Flash 2023, The Marvels, Joker 2, and Madam Webb.

After Supergirl’s failure I hope Gunn never gets his hands on Wonder Woman.

While 1984 ,sucked, I do miss Snyder’s Wonder Woman. The last thing she needs is to become an obnoxious girl boss like Gunn’s Supergirl.

I have no idea why he thought this would work. He really should have known better.

Personally I wish they'd use the original name from the comic "What's so funny about truth, justice, and the American way" if they ever adapt it again
Well, the Supergirl show adapted the story for an arc, and even used that title for an episode. Of course, it's The CW, so Manchester Black was...

How do we bounce back from the flop that is Supergirl?
Obviously, DeathStroke and Bane is the clear heavy hitter that will put DC back on track. Fucking genius!
They have to be pulling names out of a hat at this point.

Just imagine the No Man's Land scene if it was penned by Gunn.

I read Superman/Batman for the first time like 2 weeks ago, because I loved Loeb and McGuinness' work on the Hulk. That book is a better Supergirl story than anything Gunn could ever dream up, flat out. Much thanks to the "DC Compact Comics" line of books for making classics like this, Dark Knight Returns, and All-Star Superman available to readers at the meager price of 10 dollars.

I just love that some casting director read the name Manchester Black, and just assumed, "Well shit, guess I gotta find a black guy now!"

Didn't Loeb and McGuinness' Batman/Superman make it into a full run after the initial story? If that's the one I'm thinking of, I really enjoyed that run.

I saw those compacts the last time I was at a bookstore. I picked up Watchmen, Kingdom Come, and The New Frontier, because I donated my old copies a while back, and with the new for,at, they fit on my shelves better.

I have the perfect plan to save DC movies
a) we go all animated
b) hire all the old guys to write
c) revive the corpses of the Fleischer brothers
d) hope they forgot they went bankrupt trying to do this shit last time

Yeah, the compact book contains issues 1-6 (Public Enemies), and 8-13 (The Supergirl from Krypton).

How come this random video that popped up on my Youtube feed feels more like a Flash movie and has better special effects than the Flash movie we got a couple of years ago that James Gunn said was the best movie he had ever seen?

I mean at this point just film the beheading of Gunn and send it to cinema. It’ll make more money than Supergirl and if you stream whatever’s on his personal drives, I guarantee even the most staunch leftist will cheer on that hipster fuck getting what he deserves.

He’s a pedophile, he hides behind leftist ideology and “moral superiority” and being a hipster, while positioning himself in brands that are naturally adjacent to children.

Snyder is a retard but Gunn is so much more detestable and his downfall has been fun to watch, twice.

Última edición:
Not only is the WW movie scheduled, the writer is the same bitch who wrote Supergirl.
If it ever comes out, it will be amazing.

There seems to be an unspoken rule that only women are allowed to write and direct female lead superhero movies. I haven't bothered to check the exceptions, but I can't help but notice leads seem to immediately give them up and delegate them to women. Like a hot potatoe.

I suspect they do it because of Hollywood politics. Would look bad if the "empowering" female character movie was made by a guy.

While I do get it's a hard position to be in, I don't get why they keep hiring women that just aren't qualified for it. Surely even Lauren Faust would had been a better choose for a writer.

3. Gunn will realize he is cooked then "Quit" because "MUH DRUMPH" and run back to Marvel and make GOTG 4 which will cost 500 Million Dollars and make 25 Million opening weekend.

Battle Angel (who may or may not have a name, not unlike how John Carter may or may not have a planet) was the Spy Kids guy, Gally is at least 70% cape
