The way I see it and mentioned before, I see it two ways. See if you all can predict which likely outcome will happensI think it's much much much more than that. If the movie under delivers spectacularly as it continues to do so, the product placement deals that they got will get smaller and smaller, and some may even pull out of future projects. It cost like 300m with marketing, so it needs at least 450+ with the product placement monies they've got.
This could be incredibly disastrous for the DCU and WB and with the new Maga boss looming over, it may even get worse.
1. Ellison and Paramount will fold multiple WB divisions and units to cut costs and reduce debt and Gunn has put himself on the chopping block now and Ellison has no patience for Gunn and will give him the boot
2. Gunn will realize his new bosses are buddies with Trump, which whom he hates, and will depart when the merger closes or before gets a pink slip.
I’m leaning towards the first one because Ellison will have no place for Gunn and with the massive amount of debt he will inherit from this acquisition, he will do whatever he can to lower the debt and cut costs and Gunn will be seen as two expendable.
And this won’t be like another shitshow like when Disney initially fired him for his creepy tweets and neckbeards like Moviebob whined so hard they reversed it. Gunn has failed to prove he isn’t expendable. Superman 2025 made $70 million less than Man of Steel and now Supergirl is about to become a super flop, maybe more so than Morbius, Flash 2023, The Marvels, Joker 2, and Madam Webb.
