It's blowing my mind that the man spends his life online and must clearly be seeing a lot of evidence to point him away from this, given his recent addiction to AI you reckon he's getting GPT/Grok work out regimes which're always going to be bullshit.
He is doing more sets and reps than high volume body builders were doing back in the day. And the difference is that the high volume body builders were on roids to help them recover faster. And they weren't doing full body workouts. Good lord he is retarded

I guess I will power level to help explain to the non gym bros how ridiculous this is and how you can basically confirm he isn't doing the proper form. I think the weakest chest movement I do is a form of cable incline movement (not important) but it really targets the upper chest in a way that a chest press can't (chest press would use a lot more of the chest and triceps). For incline at his sets and reps, I would probably get around 70 pounds but every other exercise I do is way above that.
For his lat pull downs and seated rows, he is doing way more weight than me for both of those. But as someone who isn't training properly and is brand new, you should expect to be doing way less weight at that rep range. So the fact he is doing 120 and 150 pounds for that many reps on a machine that you can really put momentum into it to prevent any real muscle growth gives that away.
He does way more on bicep and tricep work than me, both of which is really easy to cheat the movement. If you want an example of how badly his form is, you can look up el campeon on instagram and get a good idea.
His shoulder press and leg presses can't be cheated, which is how you can figure out his strength level. 50 pounds for shoulder press is really weak. Women who go to the gym for over a year can do more than that weight for shoulder press. And his leg press weight is something I would be doing for single legged.


Overall, Stabby is basically wasting his time at the gym at this point. He should go back and fix his form, get a proper split, and add better cardio but that would be what a smart person does

Having seen you post your insight I have long come to the conclusion he is wasting his time, his previous arc of working out did nothing for him and I would expect SOMETHING to occur if you went to a gym for a month, ESPECIALLY if you're a heavier person.. But that also does call into question of what he's doing in terms of his diet and eating, as I believe that plays a big part in working out and how you do performance wise, I doubt you ABSOLUTELY need protein shakes and supplements, but if he's still eating like shit will going to the gym really do much?

At his weight, if he was actually working out properly and getting a proper diet then he would see some weight loss and getting into better shape.

Protein shakes and supplements are useful if you need that extra 5-10% to hit a good healthy amount but they aren't substitutes

Snipped the rest but great advice. Totally agree he's wasting his time. Like everything else he has an idea of how it should be, and thinks his infallible plan to make it so would work.

He'll never get the results he wants because he's doing it all wrong. He's trying to get buff and thinks his fat gut will melt away as his arms get huge when it couldn't be more wrong. Without focusing on building his core up, he's going to to plateau quickly because the supporting muscles in his abs and lower back aren't being worked out properly, if at all.

He shouldn't worry about ANY heavy weight at all at this point, its just for dick waving early on. To get results at his state, he needs to improve his diet, work his core, and focus on low weight high rep to get his stamina and flexibility up. But this is all wasted text because he's fixated on bigger number means more gooder.

I'm curious if the leg press is done on the same machine I used to use. The low weight for a leg press has me wondering if its the kind where you attach the weights on the side of the sled. The sled on the one I used weighed 90 pounds, at least thats what I was able to figure out at the time by placing the floor scale between my feet and the sled and seeing what weight it read to lift off the stops. So if I had 130 pounds on it, it was 210 with the sleds weight. If thats the case for wereturkey okay, fine. If NOT, then damn man.... If its 130 pounds on a cable machine and thats it, thats REALLY pathetic...

Not gonna powerlevel and explain why but I was doing 865lbs leg presses on the machine at my peak years ago and I'm nothing special.

Agreed. If you're trying to get bigger, the pyramid is the way to go.
For the non gym bros in the thread, say 200 pounds is your max weight. So you work your way up to it, and then back down. So it would look like this(or similar, depending on you):
10 reps at 120 pounds
6 reps at 140 pounds
4 reps at 160 pounds
2 reps at 180 pounds
1 rep at 200 pounds
2 reps at 180 pounds
4 reps at 160 pounds
6 reps at 140 pounds
10 reps at 120 pounds.
This works you up to your max, and then the down side works your muscles after they're tired, really helping with your strength. Simply lifting your max weight over and over wont get you what you want, you need to work out properly and intelligently or you're gonna plateau and lose interest when you stop seeing progress.

And weight isn't the most important factor. Proper form and supporting the weight through the lift really is way more important. Throwing the weight and claiming it as a rep does you no good, slowly PROPERLY lifting the weight and then controlled lowering gets results. If you want a hard workout without much weight, barbell wrist curls are perfect. Use the bench to rest your forearms on, and hold the bar with both hands. Using only the wrists, do 20 reps curling the bar up towards you, then flip your arms over and do 20 reps again curling the wrist backwards. Repeat the sets of 20 3 times, flipping between normal and reverse once you hit 20. Great for your forearms and wrist. And without any weight on the bar, its surprising how hard it is to finish the set. And again, slow and controlled up and down is far more beneficial than throwing it around and getting no gains.

I'm all for people improving their health, but lolcows never will because they wont do it properly.

I posted the form and it isn't just the "Post your sources" bit, realistically it's the whole thing where he must see your entire script and position which is ultimately not how you handle a debate, realistically if he wanted this handled in good faith he'd ask the person to provide sources during the debate so Stabby can try to argue them on the fly and rebutt on the fly like a real debate.
