💼 Careercow Darrick Dishaw / Venger Satanis / Kort'thalis Publishing - Incompetent TTRPG Creator, Filthy Coomer, Chronic Stoner, and Lovecraftian Cult Leader with a Cult of Grognards

Just when you thought Darrick can't get any more delusional, he makes a video of him drawing a metasigil for Cha'alt

First of all, lol at him clarifying that his sigil is copyrighted
Also, he can barely talk and draw at the same time
HE USES FUCKING GREEN CRAYOLA PENCILS
Doesn't want to deny that his Cthulhu cult is a failure even though it totally is despite saying he has given up on it because he has too much going on.
He repurposed the metasigil because he wanted to have "a magical operation devoted towards immersiveness" basically, he wanted to use literal magic to make his game more immersive.
"Why not use this symbol as a gateway for the Game master and the players to fully feel like they are playing in that world?"
"It's more than a game"
Now he is using orange and you can see he stole a bunch of his kid's colored pencils they use for school because he really does like taking his kid's stuff for his videos
He encourages people to create their own sigils for their GMing
THIS SIGIL IS FOR CHA'ALT DO NOT STEAL, I HAVE DONE THE MAGICAL WORK TO Uhhhhhhhh... LINK IT MAGICALLY TO CHA'ALT
"If you use it for something else, uhhh... what I do is concentrate on it, I look on it and do some meditation, so if you start using this with your standard Forgotten Realms or even something that is similar to Cha'alt .... then your game will probably become more Cha'alt-like you probably won't even realize it"
He encourages people to use sigils for all of their games even players
"It will make you feel like you are really there"
He finishes his sigil and then spergs about Prime Chaos and chaos magic
He just rambles for a good five minutes of pointless stuff before ending the video

It really gives me that same vibes of that video Chris did of him showing people how to draw Sonichu. This guy is delusional full stop

In mild defense of Darrick the ideas Darrick's weed-rotted coomer brain is incompetently stealing, often third hand:
There is value to doing a 'physical meditation', especially a ritual (and by ritual here I mean "any action or sequence of actions that proceeds an activity"; getting out the card table and setting out the chips, pretzels, and drinks is a ritual. You don't need any woo-woo koolaid drinker shit involved) that you use to get yourself into a mental place for something like D&D.
I end up doing something similar making battle/dungeon maps. It gets me thinking about how areas connect, how monsters might have treated an area. Where myself and Weedlord Coomhitler differ is I don't think the game world is some realm I can reach out to and feel.
While you can have thought experiments about "like, what if we're all just imaginary people God is dreaming up, myaaaaaaaaaaan?" it doesn't mean Lord Padraig of Winterhaven is real person.

My bigger issue is how shitty he is at drawing his own sigil. I have icons and markings that some cults and worshippers use in my campaigns and I usually draw the fuckers at least 10 times before gaming so I have an idea of how hard its going to be to make them. I am no great artist, but if I can't get something that looks reasonably similar after 10 times, I rework what I'm drawing as too complex. Darrick with all his Cha'alting off should have drawn this thing about 100 times and it looks like he's trying someone else's art homework.
It should be down to a bunch of strokes and movements, "landmarks" that you should be able to describe to someone and have them recreate a similiar result despite never seen the thing they're drawing.

Darrick has a new video out!

In this video, he talks about how to make the game more Cha'alt-like. Of course, he can't be assed to get a tripod or anything so he sets the camera on a desk which makes it at a new video. Seriously, his videos are such low quality, he wonders why he can't get more than 1000 subs and keeps begging people to subscribe to get up to 1000.

Of course, Darrick shows ones of his session plans to tell the haters that he isn't just winging it while baked when he is GMing where the players have to rescue a princess from an evil sorcerer, but he put it through the Cha'alt filter, oh geez, this is going to be exciting

So he breaks down Cha'alt as eldritch, gonzo, science fantasy, and post apocalypse which, well.... I am not so sure about that. He wants to come up with one thing to embellish the scenario.

Here is what he comes up in 5 minutes oh yeah, and he colored in the letters on his little sheet like a second grader.

Eldritch: The princess is cursed with second-sight because she was born as the Demon Star Al-Gol so she has visions and she is about 20 years old
Gonzo: The sorcerer is half-banana and his minions are banana men (he then says he doesn't have to explain why that is gonzo, no, that isn't gonzo, that is lulsorandom, which isn't even close)
Science Fantasy: The sorcerer has made a recently crashed star ship his operations instead of a traditional wizard's tower or dungeon
Post Apocalypse: The sorcerer is using the captured princess to locate an artificial AI buried somewhere in the desert

I can't tell it took him 2-3 minutes...

He does this weird scream when he says Cha'alt when he says "you will make it more Cha'alt"

So the micros he states are comedic/grimdark, pop culture, sleazy which... yeah no... Here is what he comes up with

Comedic/Grimdark (he chose grimdark): The princess's father is dead, it is actually the uncle that wants her rescued so he can kill her and leave her for the sand worms.
pop culture: It is rumored that the two droids survived the starship crashed called goldie and u2 walked to a nearby settlement in search of new owners(god, is he seriously bringing up Star Wars? CONSOOM)
Sleazy: The princess only receives visions when she is having an orgasm, to this day, he still defends Adam Koebel and calls his ideas of sleaze awesome.

And he spends the rest of the video to shill

Imagine being so booty blasted over being called out for not planning shit that you then proceed to make one of the least creative things ever in something that took maybe five minutes to plot out. Hell, let me show off how easy this is, since why not. I'll use a more modern setting:

This took me just a bit over seven minutes to shit out dijo:
Eldritch: The location itself seems to be at least partially alive. The dungeon has a habit of sometimes changing simple things like gravity, direction of movement, time and weather flow. It is mostly unthinking of adventurers inside, but sometimes it takes interest. This is not a good thing, since weird physics and monsters can crawl out when it does.
Gonzo: Jokes sometimes become real if the party is unlucky. Something as innocuous as joking about an animal with psionic power can happen as a fight if made light of. Mostly here to get people in the headgame.
Science Fantasy: The dungeon is the ruined remains of what was once a particle accelerator that was then used by a demon's cult to try and use science to rip a hole into the Abyss. It partially succeeded.
Post Apocalypse: There is ancient tricknology in the corrupted accelerator, if it can be purified by a cleric. Generators, glowie rods, and other cool devices are there for the taking.

Comedic/Grimdark (he chose grimdark): If the party fails to get to the heart of the facility before a rival team does, then the strange matter death of the setting can happen. Your body falls apart into quark matter in a horrifying and painful way.
pop culture: Essentially takes place at CERN as a shitpost and nod to how some people thought that the Hadron Collider would end the world.
Sleaze: The demon patron that was worshipped by the cult has lust as one of its domains, as the particle hitting another particle was likened to copulation. Orgiastic engravings sometimes show up on the walls due to this.

Also you know what I traditionally do Darrick? I list out things and missions that people can do at locations and make a point to make three or four points per location since that usually nets a session or two. If it's a city game, I create factions and give basic mission parameters for each, and then when they get chosen quickly write an outline of where it goes, with it being open to interpretation.

It's not a whole lot, but this allows me to run something longer than 90 minutes, and sometimes I can have these things last two or three sessions. I openly run by the seat of my pants and I still put more thought into my sessions than this.

It's like he just mashed a random story generator and added banana-men, star wars and orgasms.

@Adamska
You're right, he's totally missing any sort of gameplay options. He's got a loose narrative but no motivation for the players, no real ideas for the players to get to the ship or the droids. Even if it was just a space ship mega dungeon you'd need a better idea than LOL orgasm banana

Eldritch: An evil wizard has made a deal with the God of Cooming: in exchange for his attention span, he gained a legion of slovenly, slobbering porcine servants that bring him gold.
Gonzo: MONKEYS! MADE OF CHEESE!
Science Fantasy: The evil wizard's lair is filled with devices that when touched, make a clicking sound and cause orbs to emit unnatural light with no flame! This magic continues as long as the Wizard's wife continues to send gold to a shadowy cabal of helmeted technicians with brightly colored vests.
Post Apocalyptic: All the water in the land has turned the sickly shade of mountain dew.

Grimdark/Comedic: The evil wizard looks into mirror, and the image reflected back is both.
Pop Culture: The party is helped by the Cheshire I CAN HAZ CHEEZBURGER cat and his herald, the noid. This ally can be summoned by squeezing a roll of Charmin, given to them by the mayor of the Xangan town of Farmville, Low-friction Billy but the party must first help him hide his affair with the intern by obtaining the 4 remaining missing Mambos, each guarded by a dancing baby, the babies have the power to send you to a plane of serpents; even if you are immune to poison the trans-fats in this realm will kill you unless you are able to find the beef. You are also given a Powerful Glove that allows you appear as evil for detect good/evil because it is so bad.
Sleaze: The evil wizard has taken over a child's craft room to make his videos about imagining imaginary sex.

Look mom! I lazily applied tropes like the youtube man!
Look!
Look!

Darrick posted a corresponding blog post (archive)

He posted his planning page in his blog post, the fact he has to color it in like a second grader is embarrassing. Also, his handwriting is awful and he can barely write and it is some cursed hybrid of cursive and print. Why isn't he typing it in a word processer?

He's doing this to own the haters. It's totally clear it's his first time doing a planning page. I get wanting to stick with pen and paper, I find it less distracting than a word processor and you can use the margins and get creative with layout....
BUUUUT
Pencil crayon on printer paper? You'd think someone who does a planning page for each campaign would keep them in a notebook, or a binder...

I love how he ran out of ideas and just filled the bottom with CHA'ALT

Lazy wastoid didn't even bother drawing his stupid metasigil; I mean how is a nigga going to be able to magically transmogrify their chakras into the psychocosm of Cha'alt if they aren't communing with the prime chaos via chaos magick by drawing the Cha'alt sigil with his kids' colored pencils?

His abstinence from alcohol is why he's able to craft such a richly detailed, original universe and why all of his modules are so well thought out.

I love how he says "Pop Culture", but he just means "Star Wars."

I've seen this kind of approach before. Darrick's shit reminds me of AD&D module WG7, Castle Greyhawk. Published in 1989 IIRC, it was a 12-level dungeon written by a literal who's who of talented and accomplished RPG authors. Scott Bennie, John Nephew, Ray Winninger, Paul Jaquays, and others. Unfortunately, WG7 was a wacky, zany "comedy" module. Each level was its own separate thing, so there was no cohesion, just a series of random and incongruous environments. And the book was peppered with pop culture references: Colonel Sanders, Ronald McDonald, Star Trek, Marvel super heroes, Dr. Who, you get the picture. There was a level with a jumbo jet. And another with a jacuzzi, in which Mordenkainen frolicked with his secretary, while trying to make a movie (an obvious jab at Gary Gygax). It is widely considered to be one of the worst modules of all time. Seriously, it's on every list. Now imagine such a thing being written by someone with no talent, who's perpetually stoned, jacks off to cartoons, and has no IRL friends to tell him his shit sucks. That's Cha'alt.

Guys! I have no original ideas! Help me out with names!

Look forward to that blog post

Edit: Also, Darrick released a 2 minute video about some D&D reference on The Salty Cracker which is some political anti-woke show of some sort of course, he points his camera at the computer like a boomer and he doesn't close his tabs so he could be accidentally revealing his porn tabs if he isn't careful, this video is pointless. It could easily just be a tweet. The D&D reference is only for a few seconds and Darrick then laughs like a retard

He's harder to listen to than Jack Scalfani, there is so much dead air between his words like he's thinking in slow motion.

His political arguments are hilarious. The show is on the right...against the left! Don't be...a leftist!

Thanks, venger. Where is he even, politically? He's socially quite liberal and apart from being anti woke (but pro sexual liberation?) it's not like he's right wing. I guess he could get lumped in with the libertarians.

We libertarians don't want him either. We think that he is is fine on the alt-lite stage where he has inserted himself into, up to the alt-liters to eject him if they feel like it.
I propose that we put his ass on Cozy with Nick, so that he can convert a catboy into being a Star Wars obsessed Cthulu cultist.

So, apparently, on tonight's episode of Irrelevant Characters or whatever it's called, Jeffro Johnson will be a "special guest". This is interesting because Jeffro, an rpg blogger, frequently butts heads on Twitter with RPGPundit. He is, like Pundit, another idiot who has opinions about D&D, and thinks everyone else is wrong. Jeffro seems to be part of something called the "BROsr", which as near as I can tell is a bunch of incels who claim to lift and who also think that playing AD&D 1e 100% RAW is the "One True Way".

So, either Jeffro and Pundejo have decided to make up and get married, or Jeffro is going to troll him. I doubt it's the latter.

Oh, and it seems like they're planning on whining about Venger being "persecuted"... again. That's one thing about Wanker, RPGDipshit, and their pals. They will make mountains out of molehills, and then beat that horse until it's nothing but a puddle of jelly soaking into the soil.

Inappropriate Characters has a live chat during the stream, in case you didn't know.

Imagine trying to pretend that you're not a victimhood seeking trashfire like those three. My guess is this thread really spooked them, even though the 'persecution' comes from Darrick advocating describing sexual acts within reach of children and for low key believing that the Merge is real. Lashing out like that is a great way to reveal you probably also have some very spooky skeletons in that there closet.

And if it's the book stores they're whining about, again Darrick's the retard who chose to not filter his porn fetishes. Also one of the two total stores that banned his books did it because they couldn't sell a single copy of it. Darrick openly still have boxes on hand since he's more incompetent than the retard who wrote Wraeththu.
