I don’t know why anyone was or is into DSP. I don’t even find him personally interesting as a lolcow beyond the fact he has fans that give him money to play video games.
It’s a fat old guy scamming autists out of money and still managing to not pay his bills.

As a non-native english speaker I can say there is some truth in that statement.Im going to be honest with you guys,bottom line is : Phil is no Sam Harris,at most Phil has a white belt when it comes to language. He is very easy to follow since he speaks in very plain terms,does not use complex words or phrases and repeats the same speaking patterns all the time.

I can see simple minded people being attracted to Phil,also I think it has to do with Phil confidence,Phil migth be the most insecure person on earth (he always lies to protect his ego) but he does his best to project an image of maturity,authority and success,he migth be none of those things but I can see autistic people believing it.

I guess that a very confident manchilds attracts others manchilds.
 
Maybe he's using those horror movies to study how people look when they're scared, in order to make his next emergency appeal video more believable?

Gotta love those "okay" comments though.

I've read reports that Twitch tips incur a 30% fee (as they're not normal PayPal transactions).

Once you apply fees (if that hasn't already been done) a large amount could be taken from some of the sources. If Phil is exceptional and withdraws to PayPal then he probably incurs even more fees. I'm sure Phil would want to avoid withdrawing to his bank sometimes because they'd take all his money to pay his debts.

Twitch doesn't charge him anything. Muxy doesn't charge anything except what payment processors charges them, which for PayPal is 2.9% + $0.30 and I believe Stripe is basically the same. Patreon charges him 1% capped at $20 to transfer it to his PayPal account (which means he's usually paying upwards of $8-10: he could also transfer it to his bank account with Stripe for a quarter and wait three days but that wouldn't be instant gratification) and removes 5% for their share plus credit card processing fees for each Patron (which are going to be similar or less than what PayPal/Stripe charge for a single transaction since Patreon batches them.)

There is no such thing as a 30% PayPal fee.

This is what I saw that led me to this idea of the 30% fee, upon further reading its a flat rate of 30 cents with the 3% or whatever which makes it appear to be 30% at first glance.

I guess that when it is smaller tips (of course providing I'm understanding all this right) then the fee is large relative to what the tip is.



  • 12:30 PM PDT and Phil comes onto chat right on time, however he hasn't started streaming obviously
  • Stream chat is discussing how the "hardcore gaming season" would prevent Phil from playing other games:

  • 12:38 PM PDT and Phil asks if da stream is working and that he's gonna tweet it out.
  • 12:47 PM PDT and Phil starts yapping
  • Says he's been having so much fun with The Evil Within so he's gonna play it all day today (surely nothing to do with that other game getting no views)
  • Talking at length about tha content in the game and the side quests and shit, talks about how he doesn't want to share too much about some easter eggs in the game in case you "haven't already seen the videos". He then conveniently mentions da videos are all "live on dspgaming"
  • Says he's gonna double stream tomorrow (Sunday) even though he usually doesn't because there's another new game coming out soon (South Park)
  • "No lie, it's gonna be tough"
  • "Gonna have to finish my first stream, upload the videos, rush downstairs, heat up some leftovers, wolf them down" and then keeps talking about the difficulties of playing 2 game sessions in one day.
  • Top cheerer right now has 10 bits. It's unclear if there's some sort of bug or just no one is sending cheers so far.
  • Keeps talking about how difficult its going to be to manage to fit in "Week in Preview" filming and how he might have to juggle it onto another day, rather than just stay up 30 minutes later and record it then (because you can probably see from his Instagram/Twitter that he's staying up far after his streaming finishes).
  • Says he doesn't know how long the new releases are, and that they seem to be "incredibly lengthy" so that's gonna be a challenge with his schedule
  • "This is what's so exciting about the hardcore gaming season"
  • Basically complaining about how most AAA-type games are coming out in the same 2-3 weeks as if the gaming schedules care about his streaming schedule. Thinks that if the game studios "could get their shit together" they could make a lot of money by releasing during the slower parts of the year.
  • 12:57 PM PDT and Phil says he'd like to jump into gameplay as quickly as possible. So he proceeds with his 'plahgs'
  • Talks about his Halloween patreon goal, the current vote has a "video game character" in the lead place for his 'kahstume'. Says he's going to wait about a week to go on a far journey across the lands of renton to buy the costume (unbelievable he doesn't use Amazon for this shit)
  • Talks about PUBG yet again and whines about his stupid PC setup and how he usually doesn't play PC games.
  • "I'm making an exception here"
  • Explains the whole mechanism of how he'd upload it. Yet again.

  • Says that playing Minecraft the first time "opened my eyes" after "shitting on the game for years"... "I was wrong"
  • Observation: His voice sounds particularly course today.
  • Goes on about his Teespring and the various items on there "I think there might be some pillows and stuff, I'm not sure"
  • "Even big YouTubers buy some of my stuff"
  • Says UberHaxorNova wears one of his shirts sometimes and that he's not sure if they're being ironic or not by wearing it.

  • 1:04 PM Phil finishes the plugs and says its time to do the final part of his prestream so he can move on to the usual sub/tip/cheer talk
  • Says since March when he started to focus more on da streaming the support he's received on Twitch is the only reason he's still here.
  • Says he "busted [his] ass to work and change" this year
  • Notably Phil didn't do the usual talk about tipping being his preference
  • Now he's answering tips and cheers and talking about some Halloween movie shit

  • 1:15 PM and Phil is still talking.
  • Phil answers cheer about da dieting and says "back when I was living in Connecticut" and said how he was living alone and didn't need to eat much because he didn't move much. So he'd usually eat one large meal a day. He'd wake up and have some sort of 'energy shot'.
  • Says he was around 230 pounds at one point
  • Went all the way down to 195
  • Because he was not eating a ton
  • Says then he moved across to Washington with his ex and changed his lifestyle up so it would be a bit different in terms of schedule to Connecticut. He'd stream twice and have a break and his girlfriend (he keeps saying "at the time") would make dinner.
  • He says he weighs about 210 now (95 KG lol)
  • Says he's working so much right now that he's eating a lot more or some dumb shit
  • "the problem here, that's holding me back" then talks about how Connecticut had a lot of local restaurants that made sandwiches and that sort of shit
  • 1:21 PM and Phil is still talking. Only about 20 minutes after he said he wanted to get started playing.
  • Goes on about how he has to rush to make food inbetween streams and prep time and excuses and excuses and bla bla bla bla "kinda sucks"
  • Says he wants to improve his diet a bit
  • "Obviously I'm not going to be doing that now, during the hardcore gaming season"
  • Now he's reacting to something in chat about salads and says how much he likes salad
  • 1:24 PM and Phil is now talking about how he used to put bacon bits in his salads but stopped because it negates the health benefits of a salad. 54 minutes into the prestream.
  • Now he's talking about when he was in High School he worked at some store that made salad or yogurts or some shit and about how he used to make salads.

  • 1:27 PM (57 minutes into prestream) and Phil is now talking about blue cheese salad and "tossing the salad"
  • Phil says he's never tried Poutine
  • Phil says he wants to get on with the gameplay and shows some self awareness that we went on a tangent for 20 minutes
  • 1:28 PM (58 minutes) Phil is now doing his final checks of his energy drinks and stuff before he starts playing
  • He starts talking about Poutine again
  • 1:29 PM (59 minutes) and Phil has now launched the game
  • Dat concludes today's 59 minute long prestream.

You don't get fat bitch tits, sad chubby little jowls, or fat little sausage fingers like this at 210 lbs. 230/240 sure, but not 210. And let's not forget all the food he posts to instagram. You just know he wolfs down those portions in one sitting, day after day.
