Maybe not parent slop specifically, but diced celery and thawed cod filets can be baked together. Same cooking time, convenient for households with less sensitive tastes.

Like 415f for 15 minutes or so and a quick coat of olive oil or whatever

Convenient because the celery is easy to clean up after and you can line the bottom of the baking dish with the celery to minimize fish sticking.

I'm not a veggie and I love comfort foods, but a lot of the time I will avoid animal fats completely if I want to make a lazy meal.

I got a ninja foodi 2 years ago and it has been a delight. Made some smoked salmon lentil and vegetable soup with it today using the pressure cooker functionality.

Just cooking extra and freezing helps. Whenever I cook my shepherd’s pie, I make an huge pot of sauce (onions, garlic, lamb mince, carrots, celery, courgettes, tomatoes, tomato puree, herbs and spices) and freeze the surplus. Those are great for last minute meals where you just need to heat the sauce and cook some spaghetti/rice and you got something decent.

My mothers go to is frying a pack of minced pork chops in a large pan, adding some cooked white rice to the pan and a couple cans of cream of mushroom soup, letting it reduce before serving. Very rich and very filling but fatty as hell. Its nice on a very cold day

and then theres a not all that different dish thats basically a casserole dish filled with corkscrew pasta mixed with ground beef and tomato sauce with herbs and a thick layer of shredded cheese on top and put in the oven to let the cheese melt. Also fatty as hell and easy to make a large amount of in a short time. I usually make it right before a bad storm is expected to hit so theres an easy meal with plenty of calories for a couple days if the power gets knocked out. Its also a nice pick me up for the dog when shes not feeling well

What level of fat content does the ground beef have? 80-20, or something else?

Or is it the cheese that makes it particularly fatty?

I use the leanest I can get for it but yeah I think she uses a pretty high fat content ground beef. Though the cheese adds alot of fat on its own, so yeah its pretty greasy and fatty

When making beef I would recommend getting higher fat content like 73-27, use a little bit more than usual and strain the rendered fat into a jar. This is tallow, which is liquid gold and can be used as a cooking oil for frying.

There's a dish I make called BBQ Slop; brown some ground beef, strain the grease, then add your favorite bbq sauce, making sure the meat gets a good coating (no need to go overboard here). Serve on toasted bread with mayo, cheese, and mustard.

So when I was little I had this idea that enyadra was some average food everyone ate where I lived, but it turned out nobody else did.
It's rice with lentils and onion. You boil the rice and lentils (my mom always used the bigger ones that you don't need to soak) and sauté the onion until fragrant. Combine and let them cook together further in a pan while adding salt and pepper, rosemary if you have it is good too.

Polenta is the best momslop ever. Nothing compares to being sick in bed with your nose all stuffy and your throat killing you and mom bringing you a hot plate of polenta with tomato sauce and cheese. I get misty remembering it now. I love you mom and dad.

Lentil stew is a winter classic where I'm from, the staples are lentils, tomato sauce, and pork belly and chorizo (if you can find it, otherwise just use pork sausage, it's fine), but then it's whatever vegetables you like/have. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, green peas, it's meant to be hardcore and caloric on purpose.

Borsch is so easy if you have a food processor. Only thing to make sure is you have vinegar and cream on hand for maximum enjoyment.

Two of my favorite crockpot meals.

A chuck roast or your preferred stewing meat, a box of beef broth, a few cans of cream of mushroom soup, season to taste and maybe throw in little extras like corn starch to make it thicker or precooked crumbled bacon for flavor. Slow cook for three hours. Toss in a bag of frozen broccoli. Slow cook for another hour. Serve over rice.

Or, my "too busy to cook" mac and cheese! A box of your preferred pasta shape (I prefer cavatappi, catches the sauce best) with the suggested amount of water and whatever seasonings you want for the prep phase. Slow cook for half an hour. Toss in a healthy amount of whatever cheese you want (velveeta is shit under most circumstances but god is it a good melter for this). Throw in whatever precooked meat you want. Give it another half hour. Stir it, add your seasonings, add milk if it's too thick, and you have yourself dinner for a few days.

When I was a kid, it was shit on a shingle also called creamed chip beef on toast. Ultimate low effort easy slop meal from my mom.

My Polynesian stir fry. Spam, eggs, white rice, frozen mixed vegetables, broccoli, onion. Oyster sauce, soy sauce and sesame seed oil.

Skyline is junk food spaghetti and meatballs with:
- Hot dog instead of meatballs
- String cheese instead of parmesan
- Cincinnati chili sauce instead of spaghetti sauce
- Red kidney beans and oyster shell crackers

It’s very quick and easy to prepare.

our chili was just the jarred chilli sauce a can of red kidney beans and a pound of ground beef. Didn't even use chopped onion to season the beef. My cooking exceeds my parents' solely because I can use youtube in the kitchen. Also my mom didn't believe in using cooking oils, but did believe in bitching about how hard the dishes were to clean.

Your mom was legit retarded.

Spaghetti-O’s cooked by your mother’s boyfriend whilst you dad is doing coke and banging the girlfriend he shares with him.
I was classy and my parents did that stuff outside the house and my little brother got on my shoulders to reach the spaghettio's in the top cabinet. We made in the microwave not the stove, cuz we were responsible kids.
