It is funny to see how people are reacting, I did watch the anime but never held to such high regards (I much prefer champloo), but to see netflix butcher another thing that is dear to lot of people is just what we expected isn't?

Sometimes I wonder if there are more media that disappoints us rather than makes people happy.

Poor kid. Actually pity her(?) because she actually seems enthused for the role. I'm willing to bet she actually has watched the show and is doing her best to channel Ed. It just doesn't work.

I feel the directors have failed her, she clearly has the Ed enthusiasm she just needs to be less shouty even if you can't match the stunts of anime Ed it still would have worked with a toned down Ed.

How lol. How did this get made with this script and this cast? I can't tell if the laugh track is supposed to be there to be some kind of quirky gimmick or if someone added it. How do people watch this? Why do people pay for Netflix? How are these Netflix execs employed? How is this happening I genuinely do not understand.

Yeah Ed is in the same space as Jet where both are capable of channeling the characters but are given a shit script and direction. Faye’s actor is just generic where they are one who relies heavily on the director to be good and have no standout talents. At least they aren’t like Cho who sounds like he’s just ready to get his paycheck in every scene.

I get that paycheck's a paycheck and all, but even then I feel bad for her because she could've starred in something better than this crap.

She seems like she genuinely likes the character, and I get she's a fan of Ed, but it's gonna suck having to live with the guilt of butchering her favorite character. I guess you could say...
