I just assume everyone is asian in anime unless there's a super obvious indicator.
Any nigger in anime has gigantic lips or a really bad American accent. The Nips know what blacks look like and they make sure you do too.

I hate to be that autistic but the brown gentleman isn't a nigger. He just lifted so many weights that his skin turned brown and he grew giant red lips.

Just saw the front page video and Immediately thought it was some fan parody not the actual show, I think they missed the point that Ed wasn't constantly shouting just constantly spouting nonsense.
EDIT: Not going to lie the black guy playing Jet Black really does fit especially his voice it's really close to the original so at least they got something right.

I'm at episode 4, digging it so far. Clearly not the same caliber of quality as the original, but still a fun watch in a B movie way.
I started watching it hoping for a mst3k/the room vibe. It was more of a horrible/terrible Porsche girl car crash vibe. I tapped out in the middle of episode 3. If I have nothing better to do, I might try to get through some more of it tonight. The episodes are just too long and bad to sit through in one long binge. They should have done the Mandalorian thing and kept the episodes short and not padded it out with the godawful vicious/julia/syndicate nonsense.

If the episodes were short, they cut most of the syndicate garbage, they cut the quippy dialog then *maybe* they would have produced something remotely workable. So far I've only had to endure one episode of "Faye." I dread seeing how much worse she is in later episodes.

It's pretty much what I expected based on the trailers. Just a fun campy show, not the second coming. The criticisms in this thread are valid, there are a lot of missteps, but they just don't bother me as much. You can tell a lot of love went into the production design, and I think the three leads all do a good job (even if Spike and Faye are quite different from the anime).

in case you didn't know

The front page video refers to the Netflix adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.

(sigh)
Oh thank goodness. With the references to bounty hunters I thought maybe Josh had made headway on extracting court costs from Greer or Melinda Scott and he was making some outrageously cringe reference to hiring someone stupid to go take their stuff, and it had me really concerned about what the hell he's watching behind closed doors.

I mean, I'm still sometimes concerned about that, but at least it isn't whatever that abomination is.

Yeah when I think "fun" I think of really long scenes of characters explaining a bunch of shit that the original conveyed with subtlety and class

I think of Faye being an insufferable bitch and Viscious and Julia being character assassinated

I think of remaking a classic piece of art in a more restrictive medium for no reason

LOL

They screw it up completely. Theres no buildup at all because they change the entire scenario around it. It no longer serves as an introduction to Spike's past and instead now acts as his re introduction to Julia/the end of her shitty arc. Instead of Faye being kidnapped, Jet's daughter is the one that gets kidnapped.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=-f1Z9cvbJhsThey set up a meeting where Jet is to deliver Spike to Vicious. The two of them act like theyre complient, but then shoot everyone, not knowing they were just holograms. The two of them get captured and chained up in a church where live action dramatic Vicious says some shit and anounces he'll kill everyone, including Jet's daughter. Its at this moments that theyre saved by stronk womxn Faye, in a complete reversal of the original anime. She shows up in her ship and shoots every thug dead. Spike, Jet and the girl escape, but when they get to the ship, Spike remembers this is supposed to be Ballad of the Fallen Angels and says some reheated lines from the anime about fighting his past and whatnot. He says goodbye to the team like hes never going to see them again, which is weird because this is BotFA and not Real Folk Blues: He's not on a suicide mission, Julia is very much alive and theres like 3 people left in the church.

Rain starts to play while he non chalantly walks around the church picking up ammo from dead guys, its very lame and it looks like ass. He kills Lin and Shin on his way to Vicious and then the shows attempts to do a 1-1 adaptation of the original fight, which ends up looking like a Samurai Cop scene.
This pisses me off so much, the Rain and Green Bird scenes are some of my favorite scenes in all media.

Hes in episode 8. They give him a scene where he goes to a circus because of childhood memories and recites Blade Runner in french to an animatronic dressed as a sad clown.
But there's not a full episode where Spike fights him yet?

This entire "the live action Cowboy Bebop FINALLY treats it's women with RESPECT!" narrative is funny considering how 18 of the original 26 episodes were written by women, and how the Netflix series turns Julia into what is essentially a crybaby trophy wife.
Wow, I never knew that, but I'm honestly not surprised.

The trouble is Cowboy Bebop is simply not an ip you adapt without doing it justice, it'd be like if you adpated the Lord of The Rings as a 90s Xena/Hercules type show.

I've completely refused to watch any clips from the Netflix show because I knew it would be bad the moment they announced it. So instead of lamenting the fate of a beloved franchise I've been reveling in its artistry instead. I really don't understand the kind of hubris that makes people think they can somehow top this, especially with the limitations of live-action

I can maybe see Spike being Asian, but...

The bald-with-facial-hair look, and he had a deep voice in the dub (I only saw this show on Adult Swim back in the day). Yeah, he's black, or so I thought. It's not that far off of a conclusion, and if you think otherwise, eh.

Turpin family, the 13 tortured kids starved and chained to beds, have been fucked over hardcore.

Vanessa Espinosa is a vegan bodybuilder and also a realtor in California. She also was fired this week from her (fulltime for several years) position at Child Protective Services after being put in charge of the Turpin chikdrens' $600k in donations, and then refusing them basic access for food, housing, and even a bicycle. (There was a ABC special last nite with Diane Sawyer interviewing the oldest Jennifer and Jordan, the escapee that called 911.)

Vanessa Espinosa, as part of her "conservator" of the kids trust fund, refused to help the oldest, Josh, to even get a bicycle, or to help any of the children/adults who are homeless and literally have no money to buy food .

I didn't see a vegan bodybuilder thread besides Vegan Gains bruh, and not sure the Quiverful thread is where I should be shitting it up with what I can find on her, and I don't wana venture into the q&a peanut gallery central. Is there an appropriate place on the farms, besides PG? She has a lot of potential as a lolcow from the vegan bodybuilding stuff I can find so far. (Also if u donated to the Turpin fund, I highly suggest you call, well, idk yet, CA programs pretty messed up, but my fam that donated is pissed and I got a Karen in the family really riled up from the special)
Never heard of this family before, but it's a heck of a story. If you can find a good news article about it, put it up on A&N, or, if you already have an encyclopedic knowledge on it (or are willing to attain it), spend a couple hours putting it all together with pictures and archived links and create a new thread in Prospering Grounds.
