It's pretty much what I expected based on the trailers. Just a fun campy show, not the second coming. The criticisms in this thread are valid, there are a lot of missteps, but they just don't bother me as much. You can tell a lot of love went into the production design, and I think the three leads all do a good job (even if Spike and Faye are quite different from the anime).

I think you both have god awful taste in shows if you thought this pile of trash was anything close to even mediocre, let alone good.
 
Ed's actor sounds like they're channeling Rosie O'Donnell from 'Riding the Bus with My Sister', going full-on re‎tard.
 
Another franchise gets the disastrous re-imagining treatment by the modern entertainment industry. Amazing. Everything about this looks abysmally disappointing or cranked up to max queer pandering.

EDIT: Not going to lie the black guy playing Jet Black really does fit especially his voice it's really close to the original so at least they got something right.

Jet's actor looks to be the only actor with any talent and who actually sounds, looks and acts like the character he's based on despite having a darker complexion and a mustache. What a waste of talent.

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure the canonical story points to Jet being Middle Eastern/North African, possibly Moroccan.
 
Jesus christ did they butcher Vicious.

I know some people say Vicious is kind of a stock villain but...he's really not. He's used sparingly to heighten his presence as a threat. He's a cold snake with enough mystery behind him to add some kind of intrigue. He's a credible opponent and a foil for Spike. I've always found him memorable that way.

This version of him is such a lame limp-dick. Like, you can add more to a villain's backstory and even give them more layers of sympathy without completely neutering their credibility as an enemy.

Yeah Vicious works as a great villain as he is a reminder of Spike’s past. The show makes him a cartoon character who acts like they belong in a Saturday morning cartoon more than any other character in this show. He also has an obsession with Spike (known as Fearless to show how cool he is in Netflix Bebop) when the most he gave a shit about Spike is when Spike was in his way and didn’t send random assassins to kill him every week.
