They screw it up completely. Theres no buildup at all because they change the entire scenario around it. It no longer serves as an introduction to Spike's past and instead now acts as his re introduction to Julia/the end of her shitty arc. Instead of Faye being kidnapped, Jet's daughter is the one that gets kidnapped. How badly do they screw up the "Rain" scene assuming they actually use it?
Hes in episode 8. They give him a scene where he goes to a circus because of childhood memories and recites Blade Runner in french to an animatronic dressed as a sad clown. Also, do they not adapt Pierrot Le Fou for season 1?
/tv/ is having a field day with this image
I mean that’s not wrong this show is just a Nickelodeon show (ignoring the swears, blood, and cursing) since this show lacks any subtlety or nuance and has really juvenile humor. That clip from the front page makes it look like the adaption was made by nickelodeon in the 1990s
I mean tbf how else were they gonna do a character like Ed without making it cringe? I don't think there's a way to make the character translate to live action at all.in case you didn't know
The front page video refers to the Netflix adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.
(sigh)
Can't wait for the last Airbender & one piece to set the bar even lower.I thought they couldn't go any lower than their Death Note adaptation, but here we are.
Which is strange because for me at least Viscous was the worst of the characters in the original anime. He was basically your generic Anime edge lord talking about how life has no meaning and shit, which was kind of his whole point with him being ruthlessly cutthroat and ambitious.Vicious. Laughably bad 60s batman style villain. Whenever he is on the screen the show screeches to a halt. He has entirely too much screen time.
The race swapping is so fucking bizarre. The only one they didn't swap is Spike and that's really only because he is racially ambiguous.First they make Faye latina when she was asian, then make Jet black (and a deadbeat dad, racist much?) now they make Ed white.
The fuck were they thinking?
Someone posted a screencap from the trailer showing the pair. Judy is apparently unsexied and as far as the original anime goes they were just the hosts of a show advertising bounties. How badly they got translated I'm not sure however. How are the cowboys in the tv from the anime. The girl with long blonde hair and the guy. I think they were called Punch and Judy? And might been working for the antagonist? Its been a while. Are they in it?
Some people just age like shit but a lot of it depends on lighting and camera angles. I'm sure outside of this Cho doesn't look as old as he does and just has Asian Man Syndrome where he looks like he could be anywhere from 30 to 70.It's disturbing how old Cho looks for someone his age.
Hey grandpa, tell us about the time you did jello shots and saw Sugar Ray in 2001.
I just noticed how ugly those goggles look. They look like shitty CGI or some ugly plastic toy you get at McDonald's not goggles.
WTF, that is uncalled for. They didn't do anything wrong. He kills Lin and Shin
I forgot that they turned this character into a Spider One Powerman 5000-lookin' ass.
Yes, Spike was tall and handsome not short, dark, and ugly. It's disturbing how old Cho looks for someone his age.
Well some do, but John Cho is easily the lamest asian american actor in HollywoodActors need to feel shame. Then things like this would not happen.
Lol that is exactly what I thought of when I saw that image!
in case you need a cleanserin case you didn't know

they could have not made live action anime adaptations.I mean tbf how else were they gonna do a character like Ed without making it cringe? I don't think there's a way to make the character translate to live action at all.
It gets even worse with Spike when he acts like a whiny teenager who acts like he was forced to be a Bounty Hunter. Like seriously he doesn’t even care if he fucks up in his job at allIt's been said before but Cho just doesn't work as spike. You can't have a character who is supposed to be roguish, charismatic and in the prime of his life and have him be played by a 50 year old Korean guy whose face looks deflated and has all the charisma of a piece of wood . I mean this "adaptation" in general is a dumpster fire, but when the main character is so utterly miscast it just brings the show down to a place that it'll never recover from.
