Trying like the devil to find the lord,
working like a nigger for my room and board
coal burning stove, no natural gas,
if that ain't country I'll kiss your ass.

Trying like the devil to find the lord,
Call me a poser, but this one's always been my favorite Coe songWhat the fuck no one mentioned David Allen Coe dying in the Country Music Thread? Well Goddam. Let's go, I'm gonna start by posting some lesser known songs that i've been jamming on lately. (Edit: didn't notice the one poster with the one video posted, I was incorrect, but Coe still needs more love)

Also if anyone knows a source to download all his albums I'd be very grateful, can't find them on most major torrent sites I know (i'm a bit out of the loop at this point been some years since i did some serious music downloading), so at this point I'm worried I'm gonna have to download each individual youtube video and convert them to mp3s.
You can't be a poser when your favorite song is the perfect country and western song.Call me a poser, but this one's always been my favorite Coe song
https://youtube.com/watch?v=LZbso7sNqv0My daddy learned it on guitar and he'd change the line "the only time I know/I'm your David Allen Coe" to his name (in a way that rhymes, but I can't share what because doxx,) and every time I hear it I think of my dad. <3
Hell yeah! That's what it's all about! My dad was a huge David Allan Coe fan, and I heard a lot of his songs all through growing up. Nothing quite like listening to your dad drunk singing "I Made Linda Lovelace Gag" in front of your mom lmaoCall me a poser, but this one's always been my favorite Coe song

Fucking love his cover of that. I really love the Martha White intro too. That whole concert in Nashville with the Silver Star Jumpsuit was amazing. I love the extra verse he adds to Longhaired Redneck and sing it when I play it on guitar. You can't be a poser when your favorite song is the perfect country and western song.
He also did do one of my favorite covers with his rendition of Up On Cripple Creek

Afterwork review: I don't hate this guy, but first off he really wants to sounds like Johnny Cash, which isn't a bad thing, I think we all would like to sound like Johnny Cash sometimes, but he really wants to sounds like Old Man "Hurt" Johnny cash after he mostly lost his voice and energy. Dude has a great voice just wish there was some more energy behind it, which I guess isn't what he's going for, it's more drinking a glass of whiskey alone in a cabin in Montana country music.Surprised you've only just now heard of him-he seems to be big in the online country space. Understandable. I think he gets a little away from the Johnny Cash stuff in his Western Swing and Waltzes album, which has a decent cover of Big IronAfterwork review: I don't hate this guy, but first off he really wants to sounds like Johnny Cash, which isn't a bad thing, I think we all would like to sound like Johnny Cash sometimes, but he really wants to sounds like Old Man "Hurt" Johnny cash after he mostly lost his voice and energy. Johnny Cash is pretty good but theres also the hicklib "This land is your land" which I really like and "Fox on the run" which Im not sure is country music but still is very good.
