This is the sad part. It reeks of bullshit because it's so ludicrously stupid, but we still know that Blizz would pull this shit as long as it kept them afloat because they are in a rough spot.
I just hope all of this is true, because it would make the eventual death of blizzard all the sweeter.

Literally where else are you gonna get the info? Unless Metzen has a mental breakdown and tells everyone everything, you will never know the truth for sure. You think Blizzard is gonna go at the stockholder meeting. "Oh yeah we are working our guys likes slaves, people are having mental breakdowns, and subs are below 1 million, but don't worry!" They have to protect their shareholder confidence at all costs. The game could just be an empty space with some 3d cubes floating in it, but as long as the shareholders think it's the best thing since sliced bread, they'll not sell.

I kind of liked the bit about 'ult that rezzes dead players as bots until their respawn timer finishes'. That's kind of interesting.
The rest of it is like a variation on Poe's Law, where even as outlandish as the claims are, you can't help but wonder because the people involved are hilariously exceptional anyways.

I've got some semi-insider contact in blizzard and it definitely seems to align with what I know about what's going on behind the scenes at blizzard. I believe it could be true. like 25% confidence for it, which as random leaks go is pretty high.
Retconning diablo into being a goodguy all along completely fits with post activision merger blizzard. Having a diablo game where your part of the evil legion is interesting, but framing it like the angels are authoritarian dicks with angel-diablo at the top is about the stupidest way to go about it. And it completely makes sense.
It is in some way a copy from starcraft where the overmind was retconned into being a good guy all along.

I know a lot of things about blizzard that are also too stupid to be true, that's why I find it believable.
For a public example, there's always the fantastic PR victory that was Diablo mobile.
